Borderlands system requirements.

I logged into Steam this morning to find that Borderlands was available for pre-purchase and the stem pre-purchase knocks 10% off the price.

The system requirements are also there, but it doesn't say minimum or recommended. so I'm assuming the following requirements are the recommended:

System Requirements
OS: Windows XP/Vista
Processor: 2.4 Ghz or equivalent processor
Memory: 1GB System RAM (2GB recommended with Vista)
Graphics: 256mb video ram or better (GeForce 9 series or higher/Radeon R8xx series)
DirectX®:
Hard Drive: 8 GB or more free space
Sound: Windows compatible sound card

What does this have to do with anything? If i planned to buy it, i would look at the Spec. So why put that here?

That would be because those are the minimums.

As indicated by the fact it says 2GB of RAM is recommended.

Minimum generally meaning playable at the lowest settings.

Even moderately powerful gaming rigs could see drops in FPS at the top end of the spectrum.

Really, in this day and age, with the possible effects that can just be toggled on and off from within the end product, minimum requirements are almost meaningless.

Well, if im looking for a game i tend to look, myself at the game in question, i don't tend to come to the Escapist and systematically look through all topics to find it...

But for a less rage induced comment, why not look it up if your interested?

I usually do my own research for system requirements, but the guy was trying to give a service to escapists. You can't get mad at him for trying to help.
He probably thought he was the first to find out, seeing as though he checked the website first thing in the morning and thought he'd share it with everyone.
