Borderlands XP glitch

so my buddies have had Boderlands for a couple days now..and one of them is a level 16,776,213 Berserker. theres apparently a spot before the Rakk Hive, where you can level as much as your heart desires. my buddy kills the Rakk Hive in one melee attack..it's pretty sweet. anybody else encounter this?

thats a pretty high level... the highest level I have seen in a game is star oceans 255 (also pokemons if you glitch)

He must have stayed up ever since he put it in the console.
