I've played through it Solo and Co-op, people can join in your solo game and just start playing.

Seriously the game is fantastic, when you find a perfect gun and go tearing through the enemy it's awesome, I have a SMG that shoots 5 bullets at once, 120 damage each. And just when you think you've seen all the crazy things get bigger and wilder.

Also once you've completed you can choose to restart with the same character, level, skills, guns and all. The difficulty raise makes even the best weapon feel like a starting gun again.

Seriously you won't regret buying it.

I recently co-oped it with a friend, and it was fun, but he didnt have the DLC, which I did, so I've still got a way to go in terms of that. It's good, some bits a tad repetitive (enemies respawn, skags are dull etc.) and it's a bit short with like the easiest end boss ever, but it's very enjoyable, the story a bit dumb, but gameplay good, some decent humour, and the guns, except the set ones, randomise, so it's a different experience.

Basically it could be summed up as Diablo for the FPS age. Some interesting characters and functional controls, weighed down by a world map devoid of variety, samey grind-tastic quests and gameplay, and a story so transparently token and devoid that you could mistake it for the one non-white ethic character of an early 90s american sitcom. While it may be fun to play with a few friends and the DLC is interesting to say the least, the overall goal of the game seems to be collecting equipment with randomly generated stats that may or may not be marginally better than your current equipment. A MMORPG limited to up to four players, basically.

Not really a story driven game but the world it places you in never failed to make me laugh. Plus, co-op play is brilliant. Gameplay wise, it's solid and enjoyable and has a good range of upgrades.

Its a tricky thing, I bought it a few years ago for cheap when it had a GOTY edition and first loved it. I spent too much time grinding experience bars to get the steam achievements. Had I not done that I probably would have left the game thinking it was okay. But grinding it revealed how while it is well done it is also very cheap. The Zero Punctuation review hits home on this in that most of the time is spent killing the enemy on the cover art. It is fun, the gunplay is solid but it is cheap. And as several people have mentioned the game has a weird difficulty curve.

I only played the PC version so I spent all of my time playing solo which wasn't bad, I'm sure on the consoles playing with friends might help but playing it solo wasn't bad, except for the super boss fight achievement where you need someone else to constantly revive you.

Some simple notes, the PC version has a few flaws, my biggest one, which is petty, is a glitch with one of the character's view models
The "Soldier" character's primary weapon class is the combat rifle, and at least on the PC, there is a glitch with the view model. You can see a piece of the soldier's armor protrude out onto the first person view but it isn't rendered completely so there is an empty space in it, basically the little weird view you get in a third person game when the camera gets stuck inside the player and there is weird open spaces where texture's were removed. That little problem bothered me because its the soldier's primary weapon and I hate the little things

Also, and this problem doesn't involve me because I only notice FOV problems when they are way to far back, somepeople don't like the default FOV and there is a long elaborate workaround that causes a glitch that requires another long workaround to fix it. It can be fixed unlike the viewmodel glitch.

Despite all that, if you get it for less than 20 bucks its worth a buy, I recently started playing through it again a few weeks ago but couldn't adjust to playing any other character besides the sniper so I grew bored of it.

Very fun game. Wouldn't suggest maning the world of Pandora alone like I did, though.

It's the most fun with friends. If you can find a friend to do spilt-screen co-op throughout the entire game, it will be a blast.

Online friends work just as well. :3

It's fantastic with friends. Grab the DLC in a GOTY edition or something though, it's totally worth it.
