Star trek first contact pointed out a huge flaw with the borg that know one in the federation seemed to realise, it seems the borg can adapt to phaser and other energy based weapon but against machine guns and knives they are incredibly weak against. Is it just me or does it seem that the huge irony of the borg i that the more technologically powerful a society is the more vulnerable that society is to them but the more primitive the society the easier it would be to fight them off. When the borg have come close to conquering earth twice in the future we struggled to repel them but if they tried it during say the crusades we'd kick their arses before they could they could say our resistence is futile.

You want to get close enough to use a melee weapon? You'll end up with a neck full of nanoprobes faster than you can say "resistance is futile". And as for machine guns, it'd help to have one.

The Borg, to me, are kind of Meh these days. I liked 'em before the movies. Still, a cybernetic race is a cybernetic race, and therefore a viable threat. So! How do I take down these bastards? Well...

First, yes. Projectiles. Any decent ones of the bullet and arrow class made around the 20th century. Their personal shields aren't out-and-out forcefields. They're "We ignore energy. Blah.". So, they work. You know what else works? Bombs! Explosives! Napalm! Why? Because they don't consider armor plating. You could make - at the very least - an Army of Darkness type of stand here, launching arrows and bombs and fricking ROCKS to beat down Borg.

Oh, but wait, here's the REALLY funny part. So, you know how things went down with the Vietcong? How they used their land and their guerilla warfare against American soldiers? Think about the Borg. Do they use...tactics? Do they use...advantage of terrain? Do they even dodge left or right if shot at? Heh, nope. What will they think when people pop out of mole-holes and shoot them in the back, disappearing before anyone knows what happens? They won't panic, but they won't know what to DO, either.

Also, Windows Vista. One attempt at absorbing that and the hive is SCREWED.

"Locutus of Borg has encountered an error and will now close. Take your Unimatrix and shove it."
