Yeah, it's a little uncanny valley for me just at the moment o_O But when they push the 'bot, he looks like he's dancing.

On closer inspection of the video, the mechanics look amazing. If they could just fix the way the robot moves its legs (it seems to kick them out a little bit) this could have such potential! I'm not sure for what just yet, but it could!

I gotta be honest, that video of BigDog walking on ice never gets old.
It's like a big clumsy AT-AT.

... I'm gonna go before I say anything any nerdier.

Well after being amazed more by the Big Dog robot thingy there is one conclusion I have come to.

In the words of Three Dog, We are totally screwed.

Until I see one of these that can operate for days on the same power supply, I don't think the tech will go anywhere serious. We need our energy generation tech to catch up to our engineering tech for the next big leap.
I don't know, carbon nanotube batteries [http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2006/batteries-0208.html] are looking fairly promising. Sure, the article is three years old, but there's potential there!

...oh crap, don't let the robots read that!

What I'm worried about is the fact that given I'm British I have Skynet floating over my head, I mean seriously give that thing AI, and it'll just stream the anti-life equiation straight into everyones mobiles.

It WILL figure that thing out man, it's inevitable.
