So I thought I'd ask around and see what you folks thought were some of the most persistent issues regarding gaming. These are the debates and things that, no matter how gaming changes, will be around to be rehashed and recycled ad nauseum.
Here's a couple to start out:
Violence in Video Games - This has always been a problem ever since you could actually see something getting killed in a game. I doubt this will ever go away, so long as people are developing games with varying levels of content that may or may not be appropriate for people of a certain age.
MMORPG addiction - While gaming addiction in general is a problem, it is most certainly exacerbated by the fact that monthly-pay MMOs and their long grinds encourage some level of obsession with the game, or with being the best even despite the finish line being moved. There are a couple famous incidents (18 hour FFXI boss anyone?) that are recent, and this isn't going anywhere as long as MMOs are designed the way they are to get cash.
And yes, before all you jokers come in to do it, I'm going to pre-empt you...
Threads like this - Because as long as there are forums, there's going to be redundancy. Heh.
