So, a few days ago I was walking through Walmart when I came across the DVD set to the show 'Harpers Island', a one season mystery show about a killer on an island. My friends and I had watched the whole show last year and were saddened to hear that it had low ratings in viewer's despite being one of the most unique shows on TV at the time.
So I bought it, despite having already seeing it, I bought it as a way to support the company, actors, writing that had gone into making a show I throughly enjoyed. I will probably not watch the show again, seeing as I now know who the killer is, but it makes me happy to know I've supported them.
My question is, have you ever bought something more for the fact of supporting what went into making the show/game/book/etc. than the actual item itself? And do you think this is something that people should do, or is it just a waste of cash?
