Boxwars 16: Medieval Rock
Caulfield Park, Boxing Day 2010

Once again, it is the war of the box on the most appropriate day for it and I did not know it was also one of the BoxWars Council's birthday so it was a double celebration. I had told a few of my friends and other people about the event and although they were interested in it, they could not make it unfortunately due to family or other commitments. There were still quite a few people who arrived by the time the event had started though.

I made a point of going down to check on preparations earlier in the day and got wet from the light rain that was falling while the cardboard castle was being built.

For this year it was back to basics with non-painted cardboard being preferred and a strict adherence to cardboard and sticky tape only for construction. There were still quite a few warriors who turned up on the day and the event's first international guest in the form of Skull Man who flew out from Canada to take part.

It had been a big year for the BoxWars with their work with Boogie, The Metals film clip and building giant robots for the Stereosonic Festival and this was the perfect way to celebrate its end.

Cheers to Nancy and Antman who turned up on the day and anyone else I missed. I also managed to beat my own record for photos, getting back to the park to give HOSS the photos from the battle in 1 hr, 8 minutes and 2 seconds. I don't know if I will do so next year as I did have to run off the second it finished to get back so quickly and that is with the park just down the road from me.
