Brütal Legend hits store shelves on October 13 for the Xbox 360 and Wii, and October 15 for the PlayStation 3.
Huh? Whoa, hey! Where are you getting that bit from? There's no Wii release, and don't both come out on the 13th? Or are you talking about the Songs for their respective systems on aforementioned dates? What's going on there, man?

i think family guy put it best when they took their shot at Jack Black. He acts like he is sooo cool and edgy because he "relates" to the young crowd. But when you try too hard to act cool you suddenly become uncool. Brutal legend is trying to hard to be Brooootal and that makes me laugh at the game in general and make me want to pass on it, which i will.
Woooo, and thank you! Enjoy *not* playing it, because we will enjoy that very much. It's so nice when nasty people exclude themselves from the party - less effort on our end to remove them.

You know, I was wondering the same exact thing. I wouldn't have bothered getting an XBox 360 if I could play Brutal Legend on the Wii.(No joke)

Now that's dedication. Laudable, I think. A 360 just to play the new Metal? Quite laudable.

Yep. Attractive titles have come and gone, but I knew I didn't need to be a part of the new consol generation 'til Brutal Legend came out. That was the grand deciding factor.

But now I've played some of those 'attractive' titles, and they've been kinda disappointing. Well, except for Bioshock.)

People usually assume that, as an elite, famous internet journalist, I am capable of fully comprehending complex documents like press releases. This, as you can see, is not always true.

Thanks for pointing out the... well, let's call it a typo. And never speak of it again. ;)

Quickly switching topics here, isn't Motorhead awesome? I've never been a huge fan but I can't resist banging my head against something every time I hear their music. I saw them on their Orgasmatron tour in 19somethingsomething and yeah... it was metal.

Once again, of all the songs they could've picked, they pick ones that I don't really care for.

Awesome. Now I need Rock Band.

Rock Band has had plenty of awesome metal songs before now...even from artist like Motorhead and Tenacious D...

*Evil Laugh*

Is nobody else seeing just how ironically amazing this is???

Activision, makers of Guitar Hero in case you forgot, dropped Brütal Legend because Tim Shaeffer didn't want to turn Brütal Legend into "Guitar Hero: Brütal Legend" and now Rock Band, Guitar Hero's worst nemesis, is getting the goods!

I can't wait for Brütal Legend myself. LET THERE BE ROCK \m/

My immediate response: "I don't need your grief... not like how I need Rock Band."

My more appropriate response: Why you gotta hate? I've been playing Harmonix games for a long-ass time now. Frequency, Amplitude, Antigrav, GH, GH2, GH: Rock the 80s, Phase, etc. I even played Karaoke Revolution just to see what it was like.

If I didn't want to spend over $100 (because I'm almost always flat broke) to buy a game that would encourage me to hang out w/ people, then that was my prerogative. In addition, I only need my own copy. I have friends w/ whom I play the game all the time (or at least on alternating Tuesday and Wednesday nights each week).

Join the fucking club
There's a fucking club? Do I have to pay dues? Or is it based on donations?

Whatever it is, I want to join.
That's probably the best post ever.

OT, I'm more excited for "Surfing with the Alien" than for any of the actual BL tracks, but I think it's cool that Harmonix is giving Double Fine the nod (although it's equally likely that this was an EA decision).

Thank you?

In response to your on-topic passage: I think more than likely that this was an EA decision, but it's still pretty sweet. Also, one of my favorite songs ever is "Surfing w/ the Alien," so I agree w/ you on that matter. Satch is one of my favorite guitarists of all time. Right up there w/ Angus Young and Ace Frehley, among others.

""Satch Boogie" and "Surfing With the Alien" by Joe Satriani..."
Can't wait to see how inferior Satch Boogie's chart will be and how they'll make SWTA worse.

Wow, man. Gotta say--that's pretty awesome. I'm not gonna lie here, that's making me a bit envious. And while I'm not the biggest metal fan in the world, I definitely appreciate the great metal, and I've heard old sailers talk of that tour, and it's kin, as something both respectable and capable. Cheers to you, man.

And don't worry--your secret is safe with me...for a small fee. ;)
