I have the history channel to thank for inspiring this. Im watching Modern Marvels at the moment, and its about ice cream. They explained how a brain freeze works. Apparently when ice cream makes contact with the roof of your mouth it constricts the bloodvessels. When the roof of your moth warms back up, blood rushes back to the area and triggers pain receptors in the roof of your moth that send the signal to the front of your brain causing a headache.
Alright, now for the question bit. I dont get brain freeze, and I never have. Its not that I eat cold things too slowly, I can eat a 72 oz slushy in about 8 minutes. Am I weird? How about you do you get brain freeze? If you do than do you think you get it worse than other people?

Maybe you have larger than average blood vessels in the roof of your mouth, so the constriction doesn't affect you. Just a guess.

Also, I do get brain freeze, but it's not that bad.

I used to get epic brainfreeze, but haven't noticed it at all recently.

Maybe its because I'm more careful when I eat cold things now, because it hurts like fury.

I never get brain freeze for some reason. I've only gotten it once in my life but I remember it stopped me from eating my slushy for a minute.

I was always told getting brain freeze was because there was an immediate temperature change in your teeth. Guess not.

Depends on how fast i drink the slushy, if i drink it really fast on intention, i get a really bad headache, i loose the feeling in my mouth, i start to drool whatever slushy is still in my mouth and i have cried at a couple of occasions thanks to the headache, so yeah, i get it bad.

Though it's really just my own fault for racing my mates to drink it fast on purpose, but its always fun to watch ones mates in comedical pain, so it's totally worth it ^^

That sounds even worse than brain freeze. That's like... root canal freeze. Owwwww.

Same, that's what i've heard from both the dentists and my friends mom who's a nurse.
