For those who have had it, what does Branston taste like? Specifically, what makes it different or better?

Have you attempted to spread it on a copy of No More Heroes yet?
No. That would be a waste of Branstons Pickles. Need something tastier and smoother like Fallout 3.

I can honestly say that I have never bought a product based on celebrity endorsement.

The fact that I don't actually like Branston Pickle doesn't hurt either.

The ingredients for Branston Pickle can be found here. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Branston_Pickle]

Hah! I didn't need Yahtzee to convince me to start eating Branston Pickle - I've been eating it all my life, for it such a wonderful substance when served with cheese on the old sandwich.

Branston Pickle seems to me to be very similar to a New England favorite called Piccalilli (pronounced "pick a lily") made by the Cain's company of Ayer, Massachusetts. My grandmother loves Cain's Piccalilli, whereas I prefer a straightforward sweet pickle relish (Cain's, incidentally, makes the world's best sweet relish.)

Not quite up to the quality of a decent homemade chutney, but Branston will do as a sandwich enlivener if there is no alternative.

Makes good in toasted cheese sandwiches.

Normally I'm all for desiccating a happy, turgid organism and then consuming it, but pickles in general just taste unfathomably nasty to me. Even the sweet ones. My tongue does not like anything that has had even the remotest contact with brine.

No not really. We get piccalilli in britain (sort of mustard yellow in colour) and branston pickle is completely different. Branston pickle is very dark in colour and much sweeter.
