Ive been messing around on Prototype (PS3) for a while now, and i just discovered that u can break the sound barrier for a lot of damage. First u need the top upgrades for jump and run, then get both air dashes. You also need the Bulletdive drop. After that, go to the highest building in the game (Empire State Building) and climb/jump up to the very top of the spire on top. Finally, super jump and double dash to go as high as possible, then go over a street and bulletdive drop. You will see Alex break the sound barrier a second b4 he hits the ground.

While this is interesting, I should point out that there is no real discussion value here. That's generally something that we like here on the Escapist forums - discussion. You may want to keep that in mind when posting topics.

Oh, and Welcome to the Escapist.

Not a bad find, although there is a higher building than the Empire State Building, which should allow you to get a better look at it.
Just go in a Helicopter and find the tallest indecipherable blob you can see. It should be near the south of the map.

I'd quickly edit all the "u"s to "you"s before you get a full on assault from the local Grammar Nazis.

Anyway, sounds kind of interesting. I wish more games had stuff like that to do. With inFamous, for example, all there is to do once you've found everything is to see if you can glide for ages.
Fun as floating through the air at snail's pace is, the novelty wears thin rather quick.

I played it a long time ago so...

How would you know you've broken the sound barrier?

Hey!! That's my line.

Okay fine, you can have it this time.

OT: Cool, that's all I can really say about that. But it certainly is cool, admittedly I don't play Prototype much anymore these days but next time I do I'll give that a try.

In all of my time here, I don't think I have ever been the first to say, "Welcome," to a new poster. I had to jump on it! :p

It shows the barrier "cloud" around u like when a plane hits supersonic.

Also, yeah this has no discussion value, but noone seemed to have noticed b4, so now its out there.

That is cool (i've done it before) but perhaps you could add a question like "What cool things have you done in games?" or something. It would open the thread to many people stating their answers and opinions on the subject inviting a nice discussion.

You know... can I say something about "discussion value" quickly?

The Escapist has a pretty big problem with "discussion value" and it gets on my nerves... every time a thread like this is posted, everyone just posts "discussion value?" and hypocritically adds nothing to the thread whatsoever. Is it really that hard to take what he had to say and find some part of it that you agree with and would like to expand on? What you're essentially doing is removing any discussion value that there could have been in the first place. Can you not say "Oh, that's pretty interesting. Here are some other things that I've found in Prototype:" or "You know, you can do something similar in inFamous if you..." or something like that? The OP shouldn't have to say "So do you have any similar stories?" or "Discuss." Please... at least try to post something that has to do with what he mentioned.

A while back, I actually had a pretty interesting religious conversation with someone that, even though we disagreed, never turned into a flame war and probably wouldn't have. And you know what the OP was? "Say something." Even if the OP just has one word, be creative with it! Try to find discussion where it seems like there is none! But posting about the lack of discussion value takes it even further from becoming a discussion. And if you've nothing to say, don't say it.

Anyway... what lead you to figure this out? Did you just decide to climb a high building after you got all the upgrades?
