I agree with all ten of them, especially FFXIII. Nothing on that list lived up to the expectations they were given, so all of them are completely believeable.

Haha I so agree with Sonic 4, it's good but it doesn't even feel like a Sonic game, he controls SO weird. Which is really a shame because the game is damn beautiful.

Your main complaint is based on "they gave this game this score". If you read it again you will see they acknowledge it and answer based on it in the list.Hunter65416 said:

I suppose XIII and GT5 already had it in for them before they were even released. Both part of a massive series and both took quite a while to be released, resulting in people having unreasonable expectations. Hype is a terrible thing. Not that I agree with either of them being disappointing. But I suppose that's largely due to ignoring hype, and going into each game with a clean slate.
Final Fantasy hasn't had anything resembling prestige or a pedigree for well over a decade now.

Opinions or not they're still a review site and if they're to have any thing resembling a modicum of creditability they can't just go in and say the opposite of what they said earlier. It makes them look wishy washy.

Yeah, I'm agreeing. Thing is, with GT5 I can't see why they waited so long save for all of the licensing. That shouldn't be happening in the first place. Waiting six years for an authentic Audi is just stupid. I can drive the real car for less than what Poly may have paid!JeanLuc761 said:

Not to mention, games like GT5 and Alan Wake were crushed under the force of their own hype. These games really should have higher scores because with all this development time, they should be beyond awesome. And logically, did anyone expect good things from TFU2 in the first place? Hard to be "let down" by any title that didn't have you all worked up in the first place.
The only ones I don't agree on are Final Fantasy XIII and Fable III. The others...pretty much. Substitute them for a Call of Duty or two and your all set.

Notice that three of them have a number at the end, and those three games have very good prequels, so that also adds heavily to the expectations.
OT: I think we all expected these to be on the list, didnt we? Besides the fact that theres no Force Unleashed 2 of course.
again I must state the issue isn't that they say this and that game is good or bad, but different reviewer or not when you make a list that has a number of games your site personally ranked as high and good (implying we should all go out and buy them) but then later turn around and post a list calling those same games disappointments, counter mines your earlier proclamations of good.Zachary Amaranth said:

It's counter intuitive and somewhat hypocritical.
look at it this way. You see a game ranked as an 8.9 or so, you think wow they really liked this, but then you see the same game on a list of top 10 disappointments and you have to stop and think what the hell, is this game good or not.
disappointing does not equal bad.

Butthurt much? I'm not a fan of IGN but I agree with this list as far as the games I've played. The entire Fable series was a disappointment really. They could have been great but each game fell far short. I'm still yet to understand how you can make a <10 hour rpg. Why is the (misleading) title of the article "Top Ten Biggest Gaming Disappointments of 2010" instead of something like "Highly anticipated that were good but didn't meet our expectations. IGN is resorting to flamebaiting for hits. And no, their opinion doesn't deserve to be taken seriously considering their intent.
