According to IGN, Sucker Punch announced at Comic Con that they are changing Cole back (probably because of the fan hate).

Anyway the article is here and it includes a new (I haven't seen it) InFamous 2 video.

What are your thoughts?

This news makes me want to jump up on a table surrounded by people who whined about the old Cole, thrust my hips in their faces, and shout "IN YO MOUF!" over and over again until I'm tackled to the floor.

I'll restrain myself.

As I said in the other thread, this is good because going from what Cole was in the first game, a brooding, world-weary person, into a younger, more immature seeming guy in the second after the ending of the first, it just doesn't make sense.

EDIT: Also, he sounds a lot like Ellis from Left 4 Dead 2.
