Hello fellow escapateers,

You probably find yourself familiar with the following things I'm about to say. Wednesday: you wake up in the morning... is it thursday?.. Oh no, my mistake again. Shower, have breakfast and go to work/school. Arrived there you do your thing, hear colleagues or classmates make the same jokes over and over again and you nearly wonder when agent Smith will show up. Same customers call you up and you need to explain AGAIN how to solve the SAME problem. You go home, try to relax and after that go to bed.. Thursday: you wake up in the morning... is it..?
You catch my drift and for you who've seen groundhog day, it also might sound familiar.

My question to you guys and gals: what do you do to break the spiral of these 5 work/school days?

Well, I'm on my summer break right now, but during the school year I just spend the majority of my time on the internet or xbox avoiding my problems. It works for a while, and then my problems inevitably catch up with me. WHY DON'T I LEARN!

Do something fun on the weekends that you can look forward to, and get your mind off the tediousness of the same old grind. Or get a job you like more.

Yeah... I need to learn to do more things. I feel like I'm just wasting time at the moment.

I drink. Just not for that reason, it's mostly because life is boring when sober.

In all honesty, I don't feel like my life is that repetitive. Last night I went home, played Bioshock, my housemate cooked my dinner and we watched Band of Brothers. The day before I cooked the dinner, and watched my housemate play Red Dead Redemption while I read comics. The day before that I went out and met friends in a pub, then some more friends in a different pub, then a friend came back to mine to watch the football. Notice anything about this paragraph? I didn't mention my job once.

The moral of the story is, I guess, that you should vary the stuff you do at home. Maybe you're stuck doing the same shit over and over at work, but your free time is your own. You're putting too much emphasis on the unimportant parts of your day - getting up, going to work etc - and not enough on the really good stuff, the time where you get to do what you want. Mix it up a little.
