Brick, Lillith, Mordecai or Roland?

sorry. but i gotta stick with Lilith. sure she may not have any strengths as far as specific weapons. but that dimension jump is a ***** if you know how to upgrade it.

entering it creates fire shockwave, lasts for 12 seconds (longer than you think), can move faster, being near an enemy reduces its shield, melee attack does 160% more damage, melee attack also does corrosive damage, and ending the jump creates another fire shockwave.

and thats only the first part. if i happen to kill one of them (and i always do) the phoenix skill fully upgraded makes it so i do 5 fire damage per second to anyone within the vicinity AND my shots fired have a 25% chance of not using ammo. i've gotten 5 shots off on a two chambered revolver before.

Lillith is my best character when I solo the game, but playing with my buddies I really have a blast being Brick. I like to activate his rage power and then follow my friends around shouting at them, particularly when we are in a town or other non-combat area.

Oh, I clicked this because Lilith made me think of Lilith from Darkstalkers.

But BORDERLANDS, ahn? Well, LILITH ANYWAY!! Phasewalking is too much fun. Phasewalk up to an enemy, and pump a shotgun round into their frickin' face. I think yes.

If you have 3 Lilliths with the Team Cooldown Reduction mods equipped (and equals at least 100%) you can mash the special attack button to kill nearly every enemy in the game without ever taking damage.
Why? You're invincible during Phasewalk, and now you have unlimited Phasewalk.

Still, the most obnoxiously overpowered character build I've found is actually Rocket Brick.

It's like a sniper rifle or revolver that you don't have to really aim. Mordecai's chain-bird (it's a glitch that I hope they finally fixed) comes in at a close second, but it isn't nearly as satisfying to kill 6 dudes by launching their corpses 30 feet into the air. Reloading in under a second and doing it all again.

I've only played a bit of it at a friends place but I liked Roland personally. The auto-turrent for is my favorite trick out of all the four players. You just set it and forget for a little bit while it helps you mow down the bad guys.

Mordecai and Lilith are my favorites, I read on the Borderlands wiki how to spec Mordecai for excessive bird use, its ridiculous, the bird hits up to 9 targets, intakills most of them, stuns them, drops more money than is possible to spend, and is ready to use in like 3 seconds, makes him practically immortal, Lilith is fun because that phase walk recovers all of her hp, and with a good hellfire SMG, nearly nothing can stand against you.

Affinity for Corrosive weapons, a sword, revolvers, and sniper rifle? What more could I want.

Though I admit I was very very close to picking lilith, but decided not to because she's a girl. Normally, I don't mind stuff like that, but that's how close it came down to.

I sometimes wonder how I would like brick, because I rather like being a meleeing berserker in most games.

Roland because he was overpowered. Especially with the medic tree. Basically, mine was very good with shotguns and he had a ton of health and shields, so he could rush right up to everyone and shotgun them to death and if I took damage I would drop a turret and instantly be healed and so would everyone else. Plus I had the thing that if you shoot your teammate it would heal them. Although Mordecai did have those cool boosters that helped with picking up items, so just toss out the bird and every kill he would drop an insane amount of money.

I just remembered that if you combine the lower phasewalk cooldown, and kill to reduce cooldown, she can spend most of your time in phasewalk, just phase, run into group of enemies, melee, spray with smg, phase again... (Lilith BTW)

Mordecai is amazing, just don't put any points into his stupid bird and you are golden.

Have you ever used the bird properly? It's hilariously overpowered. You can get it to hit 6 times, doing thousands of damage a hit and giving you all your health back upon returning. And then less than 10 seconds later he's out ripping things up again. Also, he can daze enemies, which is the most powerful thing in the game.

I specced into pistols and bird and just rolled over everything. To be honest I didn't eve need a gun, the bird killed everything.

I messed around with the skill trees plenty, and never found his bird to be useful, even with its entire skill tree maxed. Eh, to each his own.

I like Roland. He has the most tactical flexibility, and he's great with shotguns, which makes me a happy panda.

Roland, it was the first character I played the game with. God, the shotguns can be horribly overpowered.

Old threads are old. Making a new thread for this is better than necroing what are mostly threads from 2009.

On topic: Lilith. With either a Hellfire or Double Anarchy SMG and the builds that suit those weapons best. A Hellfire SMG with a Firefly class mod that gives +4 to Phoenix is probably my favourite of the two, though.

Never really used the other characters all that much, although they were all fun to use. I just prefer the Siren.

Roland, because the Turret is the best "get out of a bad situation" power ever. Also, he's a bit of a tank when you get into a scrap.

I liked Mordecai because I'm a preferred sniper, but then I realized Roland can snipe, too.

I have played all 4 characters and didn't notice a huge difference in terms of weapon proficiency, so going off of action skill alone, I'm going with Lilith, her phase walk is just so great for sneaking up on enemies for a damage bonus from the phase blast, or as an "oh shit, my health is low and my shields are down, let's regain some health, recharge my shield, and run to cover real quick!" opition

By stats alone, she is the single best player character in the game. In both PvE and PvP, there is nothing in the game, not even Crawmarex (ok, you need a couple of Liliths, but thats beside the point) that can stop her.
