So I wanted to inform everyone who doesn't know already about a game coming out May 10th US, May 13Europe. It is called Brink and it is trying to make a more teamwork oriented game.
Also here are links to their homepage.

EDIT: Discussion value: do you think that coherent teamwork can be achieved with random strangers in the age of COD and HALO?

my copy's paid off. should be alright. after the last few fps's i'm not expecting something groundbreaking. i dig that such a key aspect of the genre is being reinvented.

I especially like the multiple jobs in one mission which allows people to break off from the team and not work on the main objective while still helping everyone.

Meh. I've always strayed closer to the side of not playing with people on the internet.

Team player I am not.

Looks awesome. It's about time we get to go where we want in shooters. In games like Black Ops it would be great to just scale a wall.

That trailer was kinda cool, but the game won't be like that, which is a shame. I've watched gameplay of it, the parkour looks kinda weak and the weapons don't feel great either. I don't know why everyone is bumming it so much.

In answer to the question, I heard that they reward teamwork, but I don't think that it will be any different from the teamwork of Battlefield. I can imagine a shitload of glory hunters like in any multiplayer game filled with randomers.

I disagree - from what I've read, Brink rewards teamwork personally. The glory hunter wants that phat bonus XP/$/Rep that comes from completing a team-important objective. I don't think Battlefield really created individual incentives for that. That doesn't mean I expect people to suddenly start to cooperate and coordinate, but at least they'll be motivated to do what's best for the team.
