Brink's free weekend.

So, brink is free to play on steam this weekend. Seeing as how I have wanted Brink for a while, I decided to check it out.

So far it's fun and all, but it doesn't seem to be as awesome as they wanted it to be. I haven't played too much really, but it just feels kinda generic, plus Mirror's Edge.

However, I have a few questions(for the PC version.): Before the free weekend, how was the community? Is it kinda dead most of the time? What are your thoughts on the game overall?

And why is it that the cool thing the game was supposed to have (SMART, not customization) doesn't really feel as good as it was supposed to? Hell why does SMART seem mostly useless? <.<

I gave it a try. I didn't hate it, but I really expected more. I really enjoy the customization of the characters and weapons, but the game modes I played just coated everyone in red and blue auras to define what team they were on, so I can't even see what people's characters look like. Gameplay wise, it just doesn't introduce anything new. I really expected more from this game for how hyped it was.

Again, it's not a bad game, it just feels very generic.
