Ok, so today some guy was banging on my door, so I ignored him. He spotted me on the backyard, avoiding him while he was trying to get a sale down the cul-de-sac so he came back, with another guy as backup, I guess incase I tried to run out the backdoor.
(I hate door to door salesmen)
Anyway, he says they have done something to the box at the end of the street to improve the broadband and that everyone in the UK should have this by 2012. Fair enough, leave me alone. But no, they come in, So I've got Ben and Michael sat on my sofa, making themselves at home while I stand on looking dismayed.
I'm on AOL, I've been on AOL since I was 13. They recently called me and lowed their internet price from £14.99 to £12.99 and said I was now unlimited instead of having download limits. YAY. These guys are from TalkTalk (who happen to own AOL-UK). I have no idea what's happening, I was in something of a trance while they babbled on.
Turns out I'm having TalkTalk Pro now that is supposedly unlimited with a 40GB cap between 5pm and 7pm because it's a peak time. They say they are sending me a new router and that everything will be sorted in a few days, I also get 14 days to change my mind.
Will everything be ok? What's TalkTalk like? They said I will get faster broadband because they take the cap off and also I will be connected to the box at the end of the street with 30 people instead of 50.
Also because they own AOL, I'll get to keep my usual email addresses (because TalkTalk use the same email addresses they said), I'll have no downtime when I swap over to them and everything will be wonderful and the sun shines out of TalkTalks arse.
So come on escapists, advise me!
What should I do? (I'm getting in to a 24 month contract here, so I really want to avoid it if it's bad)
