I've heard countless stories from my friends regarding the destruction of their precious cellular device. Not surprisingly, the most popular answer was "I dropped it in the toilet." Just the other day, I was spinning my phone on my finger (which I have done numerous times without a problem)and accidentally dropped it onto the hardwood floor in my kitchen. My phone has two screens, one on the outside and one on the inside. On the outisde it looked fine, yet somehow, the inside screen was broken.

Cell phone destruction seems to happen all the time. How did your phone(s) break? Tell your story, or embarass your friends by letting us know how they broke thier phone :D

It started using batteries more and more quickly day after day, and a few months later it simply didn't work anymore.

I was near someone who was using a drinking fountain and when they used it water sprayed everywhere. My cell phone was in a bag I had on and it got soaked and stopped. Not a embarassing story but I ended up getting the same exact phone. But that was a year ago now I have a new versa and I'm happy with it.

I could swear there was a similar thread a while ago... Currently, the only phone I've broken was the one my friend ripped in half.

Gee, I wonder how the cell phone broke?
If it helps, I have the enV 2. It has a screen on both the outside and the inside. If my phone was closed when I dropped it, why would the inside screen break while the outside screen is perfectly fine?

I will update the original post. Now how about you actually contribute something useful?

There was a "How do you answer the phone" thread. I don't know, though. I searched the forums with as many variations of the word "break" next to the word "phone" and not a single topic came up every time.

My old phone had a plasma screen-type screen, or something similar. My bag had a magnetic clasp, and my phone sat by this magnet when it was in my bag. I got to it one day to find a weird, black circle on the screen - turns out, the magnet did the damage, though I've no idea how. Switched it for another one and that one worked fine. I did keep it away from magnets, though.

I dropped my guitar on it.

Well, I say dropped. I mean, I placed my guitar down on the floor, didn't look what was on the floor first. Heard a crunch, though "Oh shit, my guitar!", lifted it up, and there was my broken phone.

The guitar was alright though.

I have no phone to break...
But my friend jumped in a pool, realizing he had his phone in his pocket half an hour later.

My phone is un-freaking breakable. I've thrown it down the stairs, I've dropped it on the pavement on a damp winter night while drunk, and grabbed it the next morning, and it still works fine! One before that was a Nokia 3310, they're unbreakable too so yeah...

Most common method of phone death for my friends however is dropping them into pint glasses.

I jumped over a campfire and it fell out of my pocket into the coals, I never tried to get it back. I have too suffered the tragic eaten by the toilet mishap as well.

My girlfriend's 29-year-old brother pitched an actual sreaming hissy fit and threw his phone at a nearby random car, then jumped up and down on his glasses. This happens fairly frequently. My phone's speaker just blew out for no reason.
