Broken Sections in great games

Ever been playing a wonderful title only to arrive at a section where the devs utterly cheap you out of a win with a thoroughly broken level/section?

I find this to be one of the most frustrating experiences in gaming. At least in a shit game [cough.. Prey] the broken bits are expected.

I have come across two in particular that got me wanting to take a sledgehammer to the consoles...

Gears of War 2- desperate stand...

Defending the Satt Comm from the reavers.

Ok, so I'm nearly finished Gears 2 on insane, this should be easy, an on-rails shooty bit. Hey, why is this turret so slow? And why is Dom standing next to the other turret scratching his balls instead of helping me?

And why does that last fucking reaver always blow up the aray no matter what I try to do or how many reavers I kill like the fucking game is telling me to? And howcome it tells me to kill one more reaver, I kill one more reaver AND ITS GAME OVER???? [switches off console]



God of War- The spinning blade colums

WTF? I climbed all the way up this stupid broken puzzle only to have a blade clip kratos's shoelace and send him plummet all the way back to the bottom... great.

Five tries later: Finally got past that stupid column, oh wait.. what's this up ahead... ANOTHER ONE??? [switches off game]

That bit in Gears of war 2 had me biting my own tongue in frustration, also the eighth level in Halo 3, makes me twitch just thinking about it.

WTF? I climbed all the way up this stupid broken puzzle only to have a blade clip kratos's shoelace and send him plummet all the way back to the bottom... great.

Five tries later: Finally got past that stupid column, oh wait.. what's this up ahead... ANOTHER ONE??? [switches off game]

RAGE QUIT!!
ARGHH !
that stupid column thing almost made me as angry at the Gods as Kratos was, if they put that stupid column thing in God of War 3 then i'm gonna go on a rampage through the French countryside shouting SPARTA! then i'll kill my wife and child, and swear alligiance to RETREAD, the God of Repetive frustating shit.

And RETREAD will burn marshmellow PS3 shoulder triggers into my arms that I'll fling at people, to no fucking avail though in terms of hurting them cos cramp and carpal tunnel syndrome will set into my hands before i've managed to get out of my fucking barn*

*or house, where ever the fuck I live.

"ok gentleman, i give you, "SPIKY COLUMN OF ARGHH NOT AGAIN?", and for the peice de resistance, "STUPID OSCILATING SAW BLABES JUMPY BIT""

you know near the end of the game, you have to jump over onto to ledges missing saw blades moving left to right, only when you need to jump back to the lever the camera doesn't let you see the saw blades on the return trip. ARGHH!!

Don't talk to me about Halo 3, I gave my Xbox 360 away to my nephew after playing that shit fest, I was so digusted by it.

Protip:
Kill the driver of the reaver and you'll kill it almost instantly if it's still in the air. Just remember to aim a little high, and don't let them land.
Once they land, you're boned. You have to shoot them in the head, and it takes a LOT to kill a reaver on insane once they've landed.
Edit: But yes. Need for Speed: Carbon for the GameCube. Fuck Darius. [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheComputerIsACheatingBastard] Fuck him and his infinite NOS. I built up a ten-second lead on him at 90% of the race done and what does he do? Why, he boosts into me, bumps me aside while making an impossibly tight turn, and continues to boost to the finish line.
I never played it again.

Gosh that was a nasty bit alright, the timing had to be so precise and quick... actually all of the traps were rather tough in GOW, the one with the spikes in the floor where you had to kick the box into the corner and jump on it had me dying rather a few times...

Half (if not more) of the time playing Skate 2... its just like WTF!? BS!
i go to "flick it" just for a simple ollie (thats stright down and up) and i end up doing a pop shuvit, kickflip or some other crapola thats not even close to the way i moved the stick. and i'm not even going to get into specific tricks that are actually complicated.
Nothing seems consistent either, i 'll do the same thing to jump but at times it will barely get me off the ground, others i'll fly over the ledge i meant to hit, while "flicking it" just the same.
the worst is Vert Ramps, and their tendancey to just throw you completely out of the pool or just stop you abruptly like an invisible hand shoved you down.

Dont get me wrong the fun you can have does outwiegh the many annoyances (including that stupid camera guy that follows you around with his uncessary comments that make you want to say "you try skating or stfu, jackass!").
Oh but one more idioticalness (yes its a word), some of the "spots" they chose... wow, who was the moron that came up with the Razor spot?... some are just "i would never want to skate this, why would you think it was fun?"
