But when it's your heart everything else gets broken too... nothing is left intact.

I've broken my leg, and it wasn't pleasant. But after 4 months, I was all better.
As for a broken heart...Here's some advice
Metaphorically broken heart: Time heals all wounds
Literally broken heart: Call the hospital
