Mass effect didn't allow that kind of stuff to happen. Maybe romance between two females but if its two guys Hold The Phone.
"Wrex."
"Shepard."
So touching! :p

Actually, it only has it in the sense the OP intended (deep camaraderie), and not anything particularly gay.
Yeah , I know, but since I usually play RPGs where your character is a mute.. its hard to come up with examples.

I seriously hope they have bromance, REAL bromance in the sequel, EQUALITY DAMMIT!

As for bromance in games, nobody mentions Suikoden? The two main guys were pretty close with each other.

Army of Two, Gears of War and i guess Halo 3 (if the Arbiter isn't trying to stab the Chief)

Hopefully, Army of Two: the 40th day will cut down on the Bromance if the developers at EA are to be believed
There's gonna be another Army of Two. Hmm you learn something new everyday.

I only played Suikoden 2. Yeah, that's a perfect example of bromance. Then I guess the term is getting used a little bit more often, so that people don't confuse it with homosexuality. > . <

Final Fantasy VII had tiny dashes of it between Barrett and Cloud, and hints at more between Cloud and Zack. Then again, you could take Barrett on a date at the Golden Saucer. Why can't you take Zack, huh? What's wrong with a little "Last Dance with Mary Jane?" It's not like it would hurt Cloud's reputation any, I mean, he's already cross-dressing. Don't give me the "how would the party recover/carry his body" either.

This has little to do with this topic...It was actually a reference from a spill.com review and I spotted it on the web a bit earlier.
It seems fitting to post in a subject about "bromance"
That's pretty epic hippo24!

Battlefield Bad Company had a lot of it! I'd like to think that some of the players in my Madded Franchise have wicked awesome bromances.

Zack was already dead by then. And there was enough interaction between the two of them in FF7:Crisis Core, FF7: Last Order. Mainly in the form of how Zack keeps protecting Cloud, and how the two keep having the one sided conversation, with cloud being too sick to be able to answer back to Zack.

...I know Zack was already dead by then. THAT was the joke. I did say "body" and hinted at necrophilia and Tom Petty music videos. I was trying to maintain the pretense of civilized discussion. :p
Besides which, dead bodies make for solid support (it's the rigor mortis), if they tend to be a little quiet and unfeeling. That just means they're more manly.

I know this has been said over and over, even by Gameinformer, but I always thought Sora and Riku were in love with eachother. Other than that, Otacon and Snake in MGS games, X and Zero in Megaman X games(I've only played one, though, so I may be wrong), and Mario and Bowzer in all Mario spinoffs (actually that one dosent really matter too much).
I noticed while typing this that I cant think of any homophobic american games with any overly-brotherly warmth between two guys.

COD: WAW, that freaky russian Sgt. Reznov who is always throwing you compliments and stuff.
Less bromance, more unhealthy obsession.

Killzone 2 had a bit between Sev and Garza.

The MGS series has loads of bromances, romances, gay love, straight love, incestual love (kind of) which always freaked me out.

Most games get a kick out of killing off your bromantic partner to offer a suprise in the narrative, to the point where any NPC that pays me a compliment is 99% sure to get a bullet through his head by the time the credits roll.

I bet Frank West and Otis from Dead Rising just love to be with eachother... lol
I have to say Frank West-as-played-by-me would be tempted to use Souffle of Whiny Old Man as ZOMBIE BAIT. That may just be me.

Oh yeah, and apperently its had a complete done over, examples as less bromance, no ability to pimp guns, new weapons, new stratagies (like one of the duo puts his weapon down and walks towards the enemy with his hands up, while the other sneaks up), and the characters are going to be made more likable and made more human, like when they get to a safe area they pull up they're masks, and you can get assassaination missions but if you scout out the target he may be a unarmed civilan then you have the choice to kill him and be a douche or let him go and be a hero.
its looking really good so far, looks like EA actually LISTENED to the fans!
