No need to encourage this fad by fostering debate. Basically, trolls are not to be fed.

They need to learn a lesson from this guy. Because you CANNOT like that show reasonably. Ive never watched a single episode but literally the amount of fucks that should be given about someone likeing ANYTHING should be.... wait for it... ZERO :D

People can have girlfriends and like a certain TV show? They can also be popular? Or not trolling? Or not a fad? Imagine if people said your love of firefly was a fad, or a trolling attempt. Its rediculous. You cant tell someone its wrong to like something. Or they should be mocked for liking it. Or embarassed to like it. Its retarded and typical american highschool bully mindset.

"HE NO LIKE WHAT I LIKE HURT BEAT HERP A DERP HATE"

A bronie can be anyone. Theres no need to attach steriotypes. THEM LIKING THIS SHOW IS JUST AS LEGITIMATE AS YOUR ATTATCHMENT TO ANYTHING. EVER. And you have to deal with it. Hating someone for liking something is just beyond words stupid.

I think its about time people who have a go at people for liking things realize what theyve been doing and die of embarassment. Then discover they have the mentallity of an anger issues 12 year old. You are doing something so monumentally stupid ITS A GODDAM ONION ARTICAL. You are being mocked on the highest level by a fake news page that only makes fun of things mind bogglingly stupid. Like telling someone personal taste is wrong. Mull that over for a second.

http://www.theonion.com/articles/man-who-enjoys-thing-informed-he-is-wrong,7057/

EDIT: Please issue an edict listing all things it is appropriate to like and attatch an age group to them, then we can conduct the furhers will of who can like what with utmost accuracy.

Bronies or any other group have no right to feel victimised. I am not a part of this group at all. In the least. Im just honestly weirded out, confused and honestly amused by this silly and childish notion that what others enjoy can be wrong or ok to make fun of.

Oh hello! Just because you dont like something doesn't mean the people who do are trolls. But I still love you, bronies love everyone ya see :)
Wasn't calling anybody a troll. To put it differently: keep picking at a scab, and it'll take longer to heal.
No point in whining about Bronies or furries or weaboos or whatever, when it's a lot more fun to just laugh at them privately and thank your stars that you're not one. Provoking them will just reinforce the victim-complex, which will lead to a backlash, which will just perpetuate the whole sordid cycle.

Edit: May as well reply to this, too.

Whenever I read something about Bronies being trolls, I ask myself: Why are people so dumb? I eman, either that, or they have a real faith in trolls, thinking that they organize themselves with a Blog that gets 3 klicks per second [http://www.equestriadaily.com], painstakingly cut-together remixes of songs using short bits from the show [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lxGWkon7WdQ], incredibly detailed and beautiful pictures [http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-K3ga9Ub7Gpg/Tt0w-vsMfEI/AAAAAAAAWuI/K6NAZtW1RDo/s1600/colour_the_sky_by_nelvakre-d4i7vy9.png] and songs written, composed, orchestrated and sung entirely by themselves [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqo53-pNxsE]

...seriously, do you even check before you judge?
Again, wasn't calling anybody a troll. I was criticising the prevailing attitude towards bronies, which is doing the opposite of making the fad go away.

The community surrounding MLP is one of the best I've seen. I've never seen any person who hates MLP make any of those, they just hate. If you dont like the show, fine you don't have to be a brony. But thinking you are somehow superior because you dont like them is just stupid. Still, we bronies love everyone and tolerate anything.

Umm, when has liking something someone else doesn't been considered trolling? I don't understand. You know what? Nevermind. Can't tell if your trolling or not.

Please refer to my other posts. I only used 'd on't feed the trolls' as an analogy. What I was getting at is that not responding to a harmless problem will often diminish its visibility. I'm content to laugh and feel fortunate without spreading any hate.

Now, the issue I have with this is that you think we are a problem. We have done nothing wrong and there is nothing wrong with what we are doing. We are in no sense of the word a problem.

I don't think you're a problem. You guys make me laugh and feel good about myself. Other people seem to think you're a problem, and they're not handling this perceived problem very constructively.

As much as I respect your policy of "Just laugh about it quietly" (hell, whatever, let him laugh. Like I said, it IS kinda ridiculous) you're post still sounded like you think Bronies would just be some people going after a fad, ignoring that there are some who follow it for almost a year and have invested quite some time and effort in sometimes amazing fanwork. And while I also respect your opinion about not being a Brony, I want to stress again that I'm really happy of being part of the fandom rather than not. Bronies are soem of the most understanding and caring people on the web. I have heard about (and experienced) Bronies talking one of their own out of suicidal attempts. Whether you like MLP or not, whether you think the Memes are annoying, I think this is worth some respect...

If anything should disgust anyone here it's how one-sided and close-minded a lot of people not only here but all across the internet have become as far as this reactions unexpected demographic go. If anything, I feel that Bronies are 100x more masculine than any stereotypical jock or meat-head out there because at least the Brony is comfortable enough with his masculinity to say that he enjoys watching a show originally intended for little girls. And it seems that there are plenty of other people out there who can stand to learn a thing or two from the show's morals.

Then you should really like Pinkie Pie.
Seriously, if you like crazy and random humor, Episode 25 of Season 1 and Episode 3 of Season 2 (even though it's about Twilight Sparkle) are just complete WTF-ness.

Anyway, regarding the topic: Well...it's Cracked! And the article really seemed quite favorable towards us. I've seen other Bronies react really pissed off, but I don't quite get why...I mean, you kind of have to expect that someone ridicules when you're a Brony, because, well...it IS ridiculous. On the surface.

You guys are getting off over a story about FRIENDSHIP. I'm not sure how hard I have to hit these nails for you to understand.
Okay...so enjoying stories about friendship is bad. We should only enjoy shows and movies and books and games where hate is the way and evil always triumphs...because friendship is something for children and we as grown-ups should treat the people in our social circle like dirt...thanks for the heads up! Remind me to never actually develop any kind of Real Life relationship to you!
You misunderstand. It treats the whole thing as a problem. Friendship is the plot.

...no. No, it isn't. In fact, if I were to criticize one thing about the show, it would be that the moral sometimes seems rather forced. And even if Friendship would be "the plot" (rather than, for example, a Pony winning a flying competition by breaking the sound barrier and creating a rainbow-colored sonic boom), I don't see where the problem would be. The writing, characters and the humor would still be entertaining and the animation, voice actors and music would still look and sound top notch. So what?

Perhaps I didn't make this clear enough. I was talking about their opinion, which holds that Bronies are a problem.
If I, for example, developed a distaste for polka-dot carpet, it would be unwise of me to rally against it. It's not a major problem, and being vocal in its opposition would most likely lead to more exposure to it.
Again, nothing against you people. You bring humour into my drab existence.

I vaguely remember the old show. *is showing age* Some mates of mine are self-professed bronies and they're all good sorts. I...I'm semi-indifferent leaning towards vaguely interested. Not been able to catch it, not really going to intentionally aim to watch it, but I can name the main six characters.

And I'll be happy if they reintroduce Sea Ponies. *old favourites*

Because it interests them. That is all there is to it. Nothing more. Nothing less. No deep thing. No shallow ignorance of what they should like. Its just some people who like a thing a lot. Good for them? I just dont give them any more attention than another fanbase.

In that post, you said what we do is embarrassing, belittled it by calling it a fad and implied we were trolls. You appear to be terribly, terribly bad at getting across your point if you were trying to show that other people over-react to it.

And that opinion is equally as valid as those that love it. I respect yours as much as i respect theirs. You feel free to think that, voice that and never change it. However to tell others they are wrong is the same as me telling you you are wrong. Which is pure fallacy. Its just a shouting match then. I will fight bronies just as hard if they try and tell you that you are wrong to think that and by extension are stupid for thinking it.
