After having numerous browser wars in my webpage development class with the local nerds, it made me wonder:: what do you choose as your main browser, and why?

I use Opera, with Google Chrome purely for Facebook applications as Opera greatly dislikes flash applications.

Firefox, as it is generally great (at least IMHO).

I guess the reason I'm using it is because if anything goes haywire or I want to turn off/restart my computer, Firefox remembers my pages =D (and I'm hesitant to trust anything else when I got something that works for me :p)

Firefox.

It's easy to use, and semi-reliable.
When it does crash, it restores all of your tabs - a nice touch.

Google Chrome.

Independent browser threads (which means a crash in one, won't kill them all)
Loads quickly
No extra bulk from all the add-ons of firefox.

I use Firefox.
The Spell checker (Set to UK) has done wonders for me so far.
It's even helped me to make a few Avatars.

I do keep my basic IE handy though, for reasons unknown to the Escapist Community.

If I may ask why opera? I don't find your choice silly(I use firefox) I would just like to know what its advantages are

FOR GODS SAKE, THIS AGAIN?

Seriously, I didn't use to say this, but these threads are simply rally points for the fanatics of various browsers. use the search bar, and participate in one of the already-existing discussionless threads.

FireFanatics: We don't care. Get a life.

Explorers of the Internets: you go on with your bad self. Explore away. Doesn't hurt me and I won't chide you.

Operasingers: No one has given a crap since the 90's. It's like a mohawk. Different, but not any more functional than anything else.

ChromeTards: I'm one of you. Still don't care.

Gone On Safari: Seriously, I don't care about your browser, your iPad, OR your hybrid car.

Other: Still don't care.

I'm a big downloader and Opera comes with a built-in torrent client. It's simple, easy to navigate, low on memory use, and rather fast in loading webpages. It's the browser that runs the smoothest and more effeciently on my computer, so I stick with it. It's ONLY downfall is a great dislike of flash-based things.

that integrated torrent client sounds pretty sexy. Does it have a lot of capabilities like being able to prioritize traffic and what not?

Of that I'm not 100% sure, it very well may but I haven't explored it that much. You could definitely try it out and see though.

I used to like Firefox a lot over IE. But now, it's Chrome. Just Chrome. Faster and less cluttered interface so she's a keeper. Only crashed about once or twice, doesn't scream to be updated like the other two and I've not seen many websites that aren't compatible with it.

Chrome because it's damn fast. The fastest browser for mac is probably Safari but its too ugly, i don't want to be staring at that all day. Chrome is almost as fast but nice and sleek. The only thing it's lacking is better Java support but that's down to Apple not Google.

I used to use FireFox religiously but i found that the only features i used came with Chrome and ran faster.

I use Firefox. I like it, I like the add-ons I have. But I fear I have too many, as it does lag sometimes. on the whole, I like it. It's where my bookmarks are.
