I've been thinking about this or awhile; how would you design a batman game in which control is taken from you every time you put on the bat-suit?

I've got an idea about how I'd design it, but instead of sharing i decided to listen to what you peeps think. To make things simpler we'll assume Mr. Wayne doesn't wear his suit in the house or the bat-cave, otherwise things would be pretty limiting.

Feel free to take this as broadly or as narrowly as possible; A multi-million dollar budget AAA title, or a 3 star average game on newgrounds, it's all fair game as long as you stick with the instruction from the first paragraph.

The only time I found Bruce Wayne to be interesting was in Perchance to Dream [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perchance_To_Dream_(Batman:_The_Animated_Series)].
So, either do a game like that, where Bruce is trying to get his Batman back, which would explain why he would start off with limited abilities.

Or, it'd probably end up playing like a My Life as King knockoff, where you simply manage trivial affairs, such as finances, training and gear, while you send Batman off to do the interesting things. Snore.

Captcha: how about lunch. You're buying, Captcha.

The only time I would be interested playing as Bruce Wayne is if it somehow involve the other heroes in the daylight were his costume isn't necessary (like he is meeting up with the Huntress in some cafe) to wear or when he is under disguise (not Batman) to do some reconnaissance in a crime area.

If you want more interesting Bruce Wayne, I'd watch Mask of the Phantasm, which really gets into his head, and just how broken a person Bruce can be.

Along these lines, I honestly believe Clark Kent to be infinitely more interesting than Superman. Superman is a virtuous Kryptonian who on Earth is invulnerable to harm, can fly and is stronger than God. Clark Kent is a news reporter who uses his position at the news gathering epicentre and position as an on-scene reporter to perform heroic deeds in secret. He has a alter-ego he has to constantly keep from being discovered, pretends to be a geek and a clutz to that end and harbours an unrequited love for a woman who loves the other him, but he can't tell her the truth for whatever reason.

Damn! He's bloody interesting. Superman is tepid water in comparison. Sadly with Batman, both man and alter ego are a little boring. About the only interesting part is the moment one expects Bruce Wayne to have to excuse himself from his aristrocratic guests, jump down a slidey-tube cunningly revealed by pulling a certain book on the shelf and emerging dressed for clobbering.

Maybe it's just such morally upstanding characters are vexing. Anti-heroes are much more interesting.
