Double Fine announced that people who reserve Brutal Legend at Gamestop would be able to receive a special code that would allow them to download the Brutal Legend demo a week before it was released on the Xbox Live Marketplace. I was looking at the Brutal Legend page on Gamestop, and it says that Online/In-Store Pickup Customers would get the code on September 16, but it says that store customers would be able to pick up the code starting on September 11.

Since I ordered it in the store, does that mean that I can go to the store and pick up the code right now, or does it not really matter anyway?

How far away is the store? If it's not far, you might as well check. Or try phoning them?

In the end, does it matter? Demos are used to see if you want the game. Pre-ordering it therefore defies the purpose of demos.

Since this thread is here, I will not make a new one for this.

Today, the demo was supposed to be available for those who did not pre-order the game. And it is. In the US. In Europe (and Australia as far as I know) it is not. And it seems it won't be out till 1st of Rocktober. Don't believe me? Check this [http://dreisechzig.net/] site out. Run it through a translator and check the latest Twitter. That site is run by Boris Schneider-Johne, product manager for Xbox 360 at Microsoft Germany.

So for some reason, EA didn't launch the demo for us Europeans. And they haven't even told anyone. 'cause that small twitter message is the only thing I have found about this online.
Why do EA hate Europe?

I am not sure it's EA fault. That kind of things happends a lot in the PSN. As each branch of the PSN has a different management and have to consider different copyright regulations and such, content is different in each store.
Sometimes americans get content that gets delayed in UK (like Street Fighter II HD), and sometimes is the other way around (like Trine).

Don't know if Live works the same way, just wanted to let you know that is not uncommon at all.

A delay like that would be something they would know about. If it is something technical, which I highly doubt as the demo has been out in Europe for the pre-order people for a while, then it is ok. And if there is something legal or whatever which prevents them from putting up the demo today... why not tell us? The demo was to launch today. They never said that didn't apply for Europeans.

Yes well enough about why Europeans didn't get it, I just got done playing it, gameplay isn't anything amazing but its exactly what I expected from Tim, a great amusing story.

Irishstormtrooper is right. You shouldnt pre-order the game if you doesn't know if you really like the game or not. Wait for them to release a public demo. Play it. And decide. Unless you want some kind of special content of course.

I am so pissed off about this - us Europeans get treated like 3rd class citizens by the game industry YET AGAIN. There is NO goddamn reason why they can't let everyone download it, the lazy fuckholes.
