Bublcam, for those who haven't been following it, is a new 360x360 camera that was successfully kickstarted in December of last year [https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/bublcam/bublcam-360o-camera-technology-for-everyone] since then, Bublcam has announced some delays in launching the camera, with the initial launch date being May of this year. This is a very great release because it brings 360x360 cameras into the personal sector, which was previously being dominated only by private companies, in massive setups, like Google and Bing in their 360x360 views of streets. Google attempted to bring 360x360 photography to the personal sector by launching Google Views July of 2013, [http://google-latlong.blogspot.com/2013/07/introducing-views-new-way-to-contribute.html] which allows anyone to contribute 'Geospheres' to Google Street View using their camera app [https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.GoogleCamera] available on the newest Android (2.2+) smartphones.

Bubl Technology, Inc.'s answer to 360x360 photography was met with more than 3 times their required funding, ending at $346,122 CAD of their $100,000 CAD initial goal. A few months after the successful kickstarter, they announced the technical specifications [http://www.bublcam.com/the-technology/hardware/] of the camera: Four 190° 5 MegaPixel Cameras arranged in a tetrahedral format in a bubble.

On August 29 to backers, and on September 1st to On-site Pre-orders, Bubl sent out a production update that lists the final launch date to be the 3rd Week of October (12-18), and continuing for 12-16 weeks. Initially, Bubl reported that 360 live stitching would not be available until after launch, but Bubl is now showing off videos and interviews of live stitching directly in the camera. Bubl also launched bubl.io [http://bubl.io], a custom 360x360 image sharing service that allows you to publish your pictures and videos from the Bublcam for sharing on the internet, one of the vital requirements to make sure that people can adopt the technology quickly. It also reported that Live Streaming would be available for Android devices, and any devices that support RTSP (Real-Time Streaming Protocol), but has reported that HLS (HTTP Live Stream) Video is not supported yet (Apple devices), but will be soon.

I, for one, cannot wait for this camera to arrive. I have it pre-ordered, but I have to wait, as I was not a Kickstarter; I pre-ordered directly from their site about 4 months ago.
