So, I got saints row two today, popped it in my 360 did the first mission...and the game froze. So I figured it was a fluke, so i rebooted, and played the second mission as it froze after the auto save. Same story finished the mission and it froze. So i traded it in for a new copy, just got home and played the third mission, and it froze again. I've tried playing other games and am having no problems, so have any of you guys experienced this or did my gamestop just get a bad batch?

I think you just got a bad batch or you need to turn your 360 on its side/upright.

My copy has been performing just fine.

is it better to run it on its side or upright? I have it flat currently i figured that'd be the optimal way

Uses more nergy on it's side... Everything does unless it is designed to run that way.

Same thing with PC cases. my school has put towers on their side to save space. FUCKING SLOW!!! and they have a 3GHZ processor.

Anyway. It may be a tradeoff between more power usage and potentially lag or slightly more heat. Either that or it is just a shitty batch

It really depends on your system. Mine bugs out a bit if it's left upright for too long. Some boxes perform better upright than sideways. Some games just act weird on certain boxes. My box protests when I put Condemned 2 in by freezing 85% of the time I try to play it. I've let a friend borrow the game, and it worked fine 100% of the time.

They really are fickle creatures, these 360s.

Hmm I see that Saints Row 2 forums have just started up. as soon as my blisters go away I'll let you know about my copy of the game.

P.S. My Gamertag is Cold Ops 4700

oh and also if anyone in the world beats the game in less than a day then I will find you and destroy your saved game because there is no way anyone has that kind of time and at least give it 2 weeks before you blab about the ending.

I feel that a bugged first mission is ample punishment for those who thought this game would be a good investment. FAIL.

Here's a spoiler about the game-

It's an immature GTA clone with boobiez and no one cares.

I don't get the Saint's Row 2 hate. If you want a super realistic high res open world city, step outside. Kinda boring, isn't it? Personally, I'm really enticed by a game that understands a sandbox is a playground for having retarded fun.

Well, I haven't played it yet, so I don't really know.

Looks at least this retarded [http://www.eurogamer.net/tv_video.php?playlist_id=15861]. The hotdog costume is a nice touch.

This [http://www.eurogamer.net/tv_video.php?playlist_id=8179], too. I laughed.

Seeing as how I'm dirt poor at the moment, the only game this month I'll be getting is Fable 2, but you can bet your ass that SR 2 will be on my Christmas list. I can say for a fact that I've had more fun playing the first one then GTA 4 will ever give me.

GTA 4: A gritty, dark game where you try you're best to get you slightly pudgy guy to just make par in the world around you by doing odd-jobs (yawn).

Saint's Row: A bright game where my custom made fat Asain in a bright yellow pimp suit rides shotgun in a minivan protecting a soccer-mom with a rocket launcher while she does smack deals.

I think SR wins by just a little.

I completely agree man. Like, game-wise, GTAIV rocks saints row, but saints row just keeps it fun. It may not have a smart story, a large world or great graphics, but you can't beat the whole just go blow everything up...like Yahtzee said in his painkiller review everyone loves being able to just go from point a to b with the population of murdertown standing between you and your objective, its pure fun...until it freezes...

Don't know what to tell you, it might be a bad disk, or it could be your 360, but in response to the SR2 hate comment, it just seems way too immature to me, I'll play it if I wanna just dick around in a city, if I want a deep and well tuned experience I'll play GTA IV. In my view, these are two games that you cannot compare, because Saints Row 2 is fun in it's own right, but immature and no offense, but a little stupid. Meanwhile, GTA IV is a deep, story driven experience.

Fuck GTA, There was a huge city with shit for anything to do. Atleast saints row keeps 3-4 things to do ATLEAST every 2-3 blocks.(For the most part.) Hell they even added fun things like streaking. It has no real point its just fun, Do you remember that? Fun? (Sorry yahtzee, Had to.)
