Building a new computer, what will this run?

I have never built a computer before, but it seems to me like getting a pre-built machine is a waste of money. I have looked into building one and am sure that its what I want to do.
My budget is anything up to $1700, and I am interested to know what you all thought before I went ahead and built this thing.

What do you think this will run and how well? Is it a good investment? Currently this is what I am looking at getting, but I am open to suggestions. I hope to play Diablo 3, Skyrim, Guild Wars 2, Shogun 2 on high or ultra.

What resolution? Needless to say, it will run pretty much on anything with decent detail. Haven't looked on compatibility.
