First of all, I don't need help actually building the computer. I can do that fine, have built many for friends etc.

I am moving soon and will need a computer so my parents are buying me one for my birthday, however I want to build it myself so I can have everything I want. I also need to keep to a budget as if it gets to costly, I have to pay for some.

Here is what I am thinking so far and would like some help on some more parts and other crap like that. (Keep in mind all the prices are in $Australian)

Logitech X-530 X530 5.1 Speaker - $63
Thermaltake ARMOR+ MX Black Tower Case - $165
Thermaltake EVO Blue 750Watt - $189
9800GT 1GB Nvidia Geforce - $166
BENQ 21.5? Inch G2220HDA WideScreen LCD - $183
Razer Lycosa Gaming Keyboard - $109
Razer Lachesis Precision 3G White Laser Mouse - $99

I still need a CPU, Motherboard, Hard-Drive, Sound Card, RAM and some more crap and would like some help with these parts. Also again, need to keep to a budget.

Thanks

Right...seems like nobody's willing to help you out..so i'll lend you a hand here:

What is important is your budget...how much are you willing to spend on the things you need?

one mans cheap is another mans expensive

I'd get a cheaper keyboard and upgrade the video card. That also seems like a high price for a 9800GT, which is pretty old at this point.

As for CPU/Mobo/RAM, make sure to get a DDR3 system (AMD AM3 or Intel 1156/1366 motherboard). We can give you more specific advice once you post a budget. In the meantime, you can check out the PC Group [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.105715] for some info on parts.

Sorry, I knew I forgot something.
Needs to stay around $1000 can go a little over but not by too much.

As for the Keyboard, I just really like it. Very fond of the rubber keys

Hm. It'll be hard to stay under that budget using the peripherals you've listed above. The keyboard, mouse, monitor, and speakers come out to nearly $500, which doesn't leave a lot of room for the computer itself. I know Australian prices are high (after taking exchange rate into account) compared to what we pay here in the U.S., but you might be able to shave a few bucks off of the case and power supply. If you're mostly using your PC for gaming, spend as much as possible on the video card. I suspect you can find a 1-gig Radeon 4870 or GTX 260 for not too much more than that 9800GT. Either would be a nice upgrade. There's no need to worry about a sound card as current motherboards have decent 7.1 chips built in.

CPU: AMD Phenom II x2 550 (3.1 gHz, AM3) [http://www.gamedude.com.au/prod_show.php?art_no=cpAMphenom2_550] - $130
Motherboard: Gigabyte/AMD 770 (socket AM3) [http://www.gamedude.com.au/prod_show.php?art_no=mbGIga_ma770t_ud3p] - $135
RAM: 4 GB G.Skill DDR3-1333 [http://www.gamedude.com.au/prod_show.php?art_no=memGStw_d3_4g10600cl7] - $110
Video Card: XFX Radeon 4870 (1 gig) [http://www.gamedude.com.au/prod_show.php?art_no=viXFx_4870_1gb] - $200
Hard Drive: Seagate 500GB [http://www.gamedude.com.au/prod_show.php?art_no=hddSE500_sata16] - $60
Case: Lancool K56 [http://www.mittoni.com.au/lancool-dragon-lord-pck56-black-chassis-p-3282.html] $130
PSU: Thermaltake 550w [http://www.gamedude.com.au/prod_show.php?art_no=psTH550w_evo_blue] - $160
=$925

That still breaks your budget after adding in peripherals, but there's not much room to save money. Switching to a low-end Intel DDR2 system might knock $100 off of the price, but it'd have little or no possibility of upgrading the CPU or RAM down the line. Similarly, you could run a cheaper video card, though it'd really hurt game performance. The case and power supply prices seem a little crazy relative to the other parts, so maybe you can find better deals there.

Keeping the same Chassis and Peripherals that I had and making everything else what you have suggested.
I got the price to $1390. Still not too bad, will make a decent PC. Hopefully wont need to upgrade for a while

Eh, I will just pay the extra $390... because my parents are cheap and I KNOW they wont pay the extra. Well they will hopefully pay it.

Don't forget to add an OS into the pricing. If your going to have anything over 4gb (total) may as well go for a 64bit system
