So I just got done beating Bulletstorm for the first time, and all I have to say is.. AMAZING. This game is tons of fun, just in the campaign! That doesn't even add to the two co-op/multiplayer modes it has. I have yet to try those out, but I heard it is plenty of fun when you're playing with friends.
I'm going to break it down:
1. The story: The story is well put together. I honestly had no idea what the game was about till I started playing it yesterday. I really didn't expect much of a story considering the game was focused on gameplay. It's basically a story about revenge, but it has plenty of plot twists to keep you entertained.
2. The visuals: The character rendering is not too bad, but it could be better. The environment is what I want to talk about. This game has probably some of the best environmental graphics I have seen for any game out there. It's absolutely stunning just to stare off into the diverse game world.
3. Game-play: Now we get to what this game is all about. The ridiculously fun gameplay. This game took the basic run and gun shooting, and added strategy and skill into the killing. Instead of just shooting someone and moving to the next point in the game, you can strategically kill your enemies, and have fun with it. With over 100 different Kill-shots, you can be entertained for hours. Off-line and online.
I find the gameplay to not have any problems. I played through the whole campaign using every single weapons main fire, and alt fire capabilities in several different ways, and I only have a little over %50 of the skill-shots completed.
If you want to play the game just for campaign, it's definitely worth a rent. But if you want campaign + loads of online co-op, then its worth a buy.
It also ensures you a early spot in the Gears of War 3 beta.

Also, I noticed people complaining about the "childish humor" in the game. It's adult humor intended for adults that understand it. Put on your big boy ears and stop complaining.
