Did everyone get the whole warning email, or is it just some people. Also i feel so stupid for ever putting a credit card on there, only psn cards for me if i even bother. They should provide us ways to change our info before the network is even of so we can already have it done just in-case.

I did. Of course, I found out a full day before I got the email so thanks for being on the ball there. It's still better than not being told at all.

Yeah, it was amateurishly translated into Dutch and of no use whatsoever. Me, I'm just glad I don't have credit card linked to PSN...

I got an email sent to the email address attatched to my US PSN account. Received nothing regarding my main EU account or my JP account, though.

That would be amusing to see, care to copy and paste(minus any sensitive information, of course)?

I want to see how an international corperation can fail at language.

Same here. Already informed my bank prior to the email as well.

The network is off. It's not like anyone else can hack it while the entire network is shut down. And even if there was some notice before turning it off, the card is already taken... It's not like taking it off the network would stop the hacker from using it.

Nothing to do but sit and watch now...

The Dutch version of the letter can be found here [http://newsletters.eu.playstation.com/April2011/PSNOUT1-S-250411-AVCE/web_nl.html]. Most of it is okay, but some phrases are just plain silly...

Cool. I have a basic understanding of german and spanish, and most european languages seem to share many mechanics. I have the english version, I can't wait to take a crack at dutch.

havent had one yet, not fussed, been keeping an eye on my bank statement, no one used it yet, saying that my card has visa protection, the only thing you can use it for without the visa protection info is ordering take away

I've been posting this on other related forums but the credit card info is not what's important here. I'm not even bothering to cancel mine or remove it from their database. Your credit card is insured. If you used your debit card, take it off and get the number changed: you should only use that at an atm.

The credit cards themselves are not the valuable bits of info that got stolen. What's valuable is the personal info that can be used to take out other cards and loans. That's what you have to be careful of.

If you don't already have a credit monitoring service, you should sign up to one and really that's the best precaution you can take. That and changing commonly used passwords.

This kind of thing actually happens all the time, the big difference here is that it was a hell of a lot of people and we all know about it.

Same here.
Still, at least they sent out an email to everyone. I'm sure some people didn't know.

Also: The only things that I've[footnote]Well, I don't have a credit card, but sometimes my parents buy me games off steam and amazon.[/footnote] ever used a credit card for is Steam and Amazon.
I haven't bought a PSN points card... thing, but when I do want to get stuff from PSN store, I'll buy a PSN card.

Same with the 360. I just buy the points cards.
