Well, the new 'slim' 360s don't actually red-ring, because they've got actual temperature sensors in them that monitor the GPU and shut it down if it overheats too much.

Microsoft should take note of this. RROD totally sucks for those experiencing it. I recall one friend just instantly throwing his XBOX360 outside the window, from the 4th floor. He had the deceny to extract his game first.

That's pretty stupid of your friend when MS gives free repairs.

This happened recently. That three year warrant didn't apply to him and he was looking for an excuse to get a PS3 anyways. I found it noble of him but personally, I have been collecting a decent library of games, switching over to the PS3 is too expensive.

MS extended all their warrentys for the 360 3 years so yeah your friend was a bit of an idiot.......

I think you are not reading what I said. His warranty has expired. We checked this on the internet later on. He had one of the earlier models, so that three year doesn't even come close/apply to 2010 so far I know.

Thus he trashed it. Yes, he might be an idiot for breaking a console but certainly wouldn't do it if it still had warranty.

if it was an origenal they still would of fixed it at little. to no cost i sent mine in last month it was an origenal they still fixed it for free (actualy they replaced it with a new one

If you live in the UK, they are legally obliged to fix the RRoD 5 years after purchase, so if you get bricked, inform microsoft of your rights.

Microsoft actually claims that the newer Xbox models are impossible to get a RROD on.

Apparantly its due to them taking the red lights out.

Just a little something I was told, don't take my word for it.

No your right that's absolutely true the new model doesn't have the warning/out of order lights like the older ones did.

No actually bungie is done with halo, microsoft probably isn't though. Although since halo was originally supposed to be on the pc, they might be more inclined to make games on pc as well as consoles, but that really depends on activision.

In other news thoughts, I think it would be nice if the future Bungie project would include the PC users as well.
