I rented and watched this movie a while back, after noticing the packet for the stunning amounts of stars littering the surface, and, after taking it, shoving it in the DVD player and watching it, I have come to a conclusion.
The reviewers were really, really high.
I chuckled twice and laughed out loud 1.25x10 to the power of -23454347547273653423454334324141481 times. I found this movie terrible. The only character who was slightly funny gets shot in the head half way through, and generally I was wishing it would end. As if to add to my dissatisfaction, there was a Top Gear spree going on on Dave at the time. To me, this was an hour and a half of boredom. I don't understand how this film got such shining reviews. Thank God I watched The Full Monty and Tropic Thunder on the same weekend, or I would have lost all faith in the comedy genre.
