Burnout Paradise in my opinion was an awesome game and still is, just wish it kept on getting support, it still shows on the news page stories from 2009. The graphics are great and while the races might not be that good, there is still marked man, road rage and stunt runs, which i all i use, and the Burning Routes of course.

It is a pain to get around the map during these events but it's hardly a bad game, still one of my favourite racing games today along with Most Wanted, so hearing Criterion are developing this game puts a beacon of hope in my mind.

Hopefully it will be the first Most Wanted, but better. I miss the old Police Chases.

I hope this is good. I want to make the most wanky looking car with the faggy spoiler, massive muffler and disgusting rims and then watch it crash over and over and over and over and over and then get annoyed that I'm terrible at racing games and not touch it for several months.

I also hope they put Road Rage from Burnout 3 into everything Criterion makes. I loved raking up over seventy kills before I was brought down. I was kind of annoyed when they added a timer in Burnout Paradise, but that made it up by having...three songs, that I liked (I then solved the problem by simply playing custom music from my MP3 player.).

*shudder*

I absolutely hated what they did with Hot Pursuit - I thought even Pro Street was a better game. So this is horrible news as far as I'm concerned.

No car customisation, rubbish driving feel and those irritating slow motion crashes... will someone please at least tell them what makes for a good NFS game so we don't need to put up with that again.

I'm confused too, or maybe I missed something: are they remaking Most Wanted now?!?

So, we're going to just forget the first Most Wanted never happened or what, cuz that title is bothering me. But hey, if they add in Customization I'm all for it.

Well that's not exactly good news considering how dumb Burnout Paradise was and how much the creator defended it.

Open world does not suit racing games that do 200+ at cruse speed.

I hope the first thing Criterion does, is distinguish between the two franchises.

Burnout is Burnout and NFS is NFS, not the shitty NFS they've got going now where it's essentially an evolution of burnout but under the NFS title. Sort it out, Criterion.
That worries me too, especially if EA want them to pump out one of each a year. They'll be pretty much guaranteed to start bleeding into each other and not necessarily in a good way.

I would like to see some tie-ins in the NFS games. Ever since Underground (yeah, that long ago), I have wanted to drive KITT, The General Lee, A-Team van maybe even.

Better car customization options seems to be the order of the day here. I want to stack so many blinking lights on my car, it gives the ingame pedestrians seizures :)

But seriously now, I liked being able to tweak the engines in the cars. But it always felt constrained as what could be done.

If you ever felt that the Need for Speed series could do with more slow-motion vehicular collisions
The slow-motion crashes in the Need For Speed Most Wanted gameplay video is what made me cringe and hesitant about picking it up, not more excited. Not every driving game should be treated like a Matrix game, filled with slow motion. It can really break the flow personally to be driving along really concentrating on the road when a car you slammed into slows the time down as you concentrate on it crashes. Especially when this will be repeated twenty times like some of the end-game police chases. I can only hope there's a way to turn off the option of slow motion. I really hope there is.

Well, I guess NFS SHIFT 3 is out of the picture, time to blow all my time waiting for PROJECT CARS.
NFS will slowly turn into a Burnout clone, and will make billions like Call of Duty while us good consumer sheep buy it until people start to get sick of it, then a different Dev will appear, and drive the series out of it's hole like with the SHIFT games, and hove it in a new one.

That was exactly what I was thinking.

First we get Burnout: Hot Pursuit and now we are getting Burnout:Most Wanted.

Now I don't want an Underground 3. It would only be another burnout game...
