To start off with, I am somewhat of a Burnout fanboy and a PS3 trophy addict (just got platinum in Burnout. This may explain some things I say). I have played both Burnout and Need for Speed, and the latter doesn?t fulfill some requirements that one would want in a racing game. Most people I know that love racing games expect certain features to be in it (such as the awesome damage engine or crash breaker), and a lot of these aren?t in Need for Speed. Yes I think Burnout is better and I would want to see another one (in five year time or more), but if Criterion Games wants to move to Need for Speed, good luck to them. I can understand if they are getting bored of just making DLC packs. Wouldn?t you? If you have something good let it rest before the quality of it starts to go down (like Star Wars).

I don't get a lot of the Need for Speed hate. Personally, I love ruining perfectly legal cars with tacky visual modifications, paintjobs and exhausts (but Burnout is and will always be more fun). I also don't understand why people seem to think this will end the Burnout series. Sure it will take time and money for citerion to make "Need for Speed - [Insert badass title here]" but its not like the series is the first paving stone on the path of no return or anything.

I have this horrible feeling Burnout is going to appear with new and exciting developers soon.
I have the same feeling but it's not so horrible.
Let's face it the last couple of Burnout games have been really disappointing for the fans of the series who appreciated it for being something that stands apart from most other car games and puts more attention on demolition and crashing than on racing.
I don't mind them trying new things but that showtime thing was a pale mockery of the crash junctions, and the balance of events was way off in Burnout Paradise. Now that that dead horse has been beaten to dust, I hope that a new developer does bring crash junctions to the next generation and that it isn't just more overpriced dlc for Burnout Paradise.

NO! NOOOOO! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Burnout is good, Need For Speed is not.

STICK WITH CLASSIC BURNOUT! PLEASE! PLEEEEEAAAAASSSEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!

There, now I've let my Burnout fanboy out.
If anything Burnout is bad. Need for Speed is much better.

Hope this game is alot better than Pro Street.
There are no words to describe the feelings I feel after hearing someone actually say that Need For Speed is better than Burnout.. The Burnout fanboy in me is telling me to find you IRL and throw a bag of bricks at you, while my civilized side is.. telling me to do the same thing.

Need For Speed has always felt more as if it tried to be serious business, and not about fun, something that Burnout was all for. Did you ever play the Takedown mode? That's probably the most fun I've ever had, and ever will have, with a racing game.
Burnout is very fun for a few hours, but then it just gets boring eventually.
That comment really makes me wonder if you've even played Burnout Paradise, even more so if you've played it online?
Actually no.

But then again, I haven't played Need for Speed Undercover. But I will admit, Burnout 3 is much better than Pro Street, but no Burnout game is better than Most Wanted.

Burnout Paradise is damn much better.
Yeah to you. But I've never played BP so I can't judge, but for the previous ones, I have and they have become very dull. Most Wanted is much better and entertaining.

Then if you haven't played Paradise, how can you say that no Burnout game is better than Need for Speed? :p
None of the previous ones are better than Most Wanted. And I doubt BP will be. But we'll see.

This is where it starts. You co develop a game with EA then they tel you to keep co developing till it gets decent, finally merging the two companies together and then you're stuck with no escape.
