A few years ago, a few people from a local art gallery came to our school and gave us a bunch of canvas and paints and let our class make our own pictures. Everyone went off on their own and did their own thing. Afterwards, the people from the art gallery started giving analysis' of the pictures, saying how deep and complex they were, how they show feelings and emotions of the artists who created them. Later, they came to my picture and gave a similar routine. They talked about how much anger and laughter and other things were infused into the paint.

I burst out laughing uncontrollably. When they ask why, I say that their comments are a load of bullshit and all I did was doodle for 2 hours. Obviously, the specific person that came to my picture got an even more amusing shade of red, making me laugh harder. Eventually i get sent out of the room that we were working in to be lectured by the teacher.

Oh well. I enjoyed it.

Anything similar happen to anyone else? See someone so sure about what they are saying and just smash it in their face just because of how wrong they are?

I've been doing that quite a lot, lately. I used to be awesome in speaking my mind in real life when I was younger - I lost that capability around the age thirteen, and now that I'm leaving puberty it's been coming back over the past year. And I'm loving it.

The best recent example I can give you was a discussion with people from my WoW guild. I posted a thread that included some naming and shaming and people paniced over it, asking me to please stop doing it. I replied that the reason I *was* doing it was because I wanted to break the 'taboo' around it. The reply back told me that some people had valid reasons for their failure and as such didn't like their name being mentioned. I responded with the message that if they had valid reasons for their failure, then they have nothing to fear, do they? And if people do start treating them worse over it, then that's the lack of those people, not theirs.

It's hard to recreate and explain the exact situation, but I felt totally awesome again after that post that bursted their bubble.

Eh, I never understood artistic interpretation. If you try hard enough you can find meaning in anything.
