Has there ever been a time in which you know you could do something but it was too late to do it, and so doing it wouldn't be good anymore?

For example, Calumon predicted Twisted Metal at E3, even when David Jaffe lied.

Thank you for ruining my Blimp Ride Mr Jaffe. I can see the lovely countryside but what does it matter now that my hopes for a Next Gen Twisted Metal is ruined...
