I'll be chilling on my gladiator mount and watch all the people getting scammed, kind of a dick move blizz. Too bad people can't read.

Not sure what your gladiator mount has to do with the topic, but it is a bit of a dick move. They were most likely going to sell the mount and pet anyway so the charity is just a bonus.

Just flexing the e-peen I'd imagine.

OT: Nice mount and all but I've got 101 already, not gonna drop cash on another one that I'll probably not use all that often. More power to people who want to buy it though.

Does anyone know if you can buy these as a gift somehow? Maybe a scratch card or activation code, I don't play WoW but this would make a nice gift for a family member

I believe you purchase the activation code, which you could then gift to someone.

This article is incorrect. Reread blizzards statement again, it is very carefully worded; half the proceeds from the pet sales go to Make-a-wish. At no point do they say that half the proceeds of the (considerably more expensive) mount do the same. In fact the very page linked in this article says:

"For every Alterac Brew Pup and Enchanted Fey Dragon bundle purchased now through December 31, 2013, Blizzard will donate $5 to Make-A-Wish®."
None of the mount proceeds are going to charity, though the wording of the press release is clearly intended to make the casual observer think they are.
True, also came here to say this since the article's title is accordingly incorrect. It's the pet that's for charity, not the mount. Putting them both in a bundle was merely a very clever way to make people buy the more expensive mount too without donating more money.
Well to be honest lots of overly rich people buy the mounts anyway, with no deal or charity involved, this deal is a good idea. I have no problem with them selling mounts and pets, I always manage to bag the raid mounts before they become 1% drops, and my collection is extensive enough not to get jealous over shiny bought mounts, everyone knows you paid real money for it, no one's impressed, but if you like that kind of thing, well, it's going to making more game content without me having to pay or the subscription fee going up in price. I can dig it.

Doesn't affect my time with the game unless I have some deep seated resentment that I don't have the same amount of disposable income that these other people do (And I totally don't, my spare income goes to helping my guild keep our website/voice chat going and usually a few bars of chocolate a month) but these things are harmless...
If an idiot is willing to pay, well... he's gonna get charged. I still am buying the pet since...charity. And I bought the moonkin hatchling too and I love the little guy waddling around after me in raid.
I have no problem with them selling it, i've in fact already bought it for my account. I'm just pointing out that the article, and the announcement is misleading.

Or I could just give all my of my money to charity and not have to let Blizzard have any.
Yes you could! What's your point?
That I'd rather cut out the middle man and give my money directly to charity instead of insisting I get something out of it. As well as giving part of the money to Blizzard of all companies.

Not for me. If I am going to buy a cosmetic digital item for a game that has a subscription fee I want 100% of the money going to charity.
