i am looking at some but i dont know what to get as i know next to nothing about stuff like this, i am in australia and therefor can only get suckythings in my town this is around all i can afford, the mainthings i whant are, sounds good, good mic and strong (i tend to just destroy suff from wear n tear

Logitech or Plantronics. They both have 7.1, and are both great companies. If it has virtual surround, that's not as good as 7.1, which has multiple speakers in the ear piece.

I don't know too much about headsets, so I couldn't tell you which one of those you should get. However, I do have some general advice:

From experience, I can tell you that the number one thing you should look for in a headset is comfort, and I have personally regretted sacrificing comfort for sound quality, and seriously regretted it.

Apart from that, unless you're using a dedicated soundcard, I would go with a USB headset, as the sound quality in a USB headset is unrelated to the soundcard, and you're much more likely to be able to use surround sound, which is very nice for gaming. I should add, though, that there is very little difference between Dolby 5.1 and Dolby 7.1 surround sound, so don't make sacrifices to get 7.1.
