hello escapist people!

i have recently decided i need a new computer mainly because my netbook is beginning to show the strain. but i really dont know much about computers, now all i need this computer for is day to day use, movies, uni work and a little gaming.
Now i have no idea what i needed to accomplish this but i know there are plenty of experts on this site. i also found what looks like a decent custom pc site so i have had a bash at making one;

specs:

Computer Case: Asus TA-B11 Black Midi Tower Case
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 960T (4 x 3.0 GHz) 8MB - Black Edition
CPU Heatsink: Coolermaster Vortex Plus
Memory: Corsair 4GB XMS3 PC3-10666 1333MHz (1x4GB) - Lifetime Warranty (DDR3)
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 6770 - 1 GB - (XFX) (PCI-E)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-770T-D3L (AMD 770)
Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 (PCI)
Networking: Edimax Wireless LAN 150Mbps (USB)
Power Supply: Cooler Master 500W PSU - Low Noise
Hard Drive #1: 500 GB SATA-II HDD 7200 16MBPM ON 31-12-11)
Optical Drive #1: Samsung 24x DVD Re-Writer/Reader Lightscribe (SATA)
Operating System #1: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64 BIT
Monitor #1: 18.5" Widescreen TFT - Black - 5 MS
Keyboard: Logitech K120 Keyboard Slim with Full Keys - Spill Resistant - (USB)
Mouse: Logitech M115 Black Mouse - 3 Button (USB)
Speakers: Standard Black Speakers

so is this a good computer? any glaring problem? any help would be appreciated.

thanks in advance.

What is the price?

Define "light gaming".

Will you built it yourself?

Also, you don't need a sound card and the 6770 is getting pretty old. It's just a rebadged 5770 which I own and it's straining to play newer games at 1080P.

Are you getting EVERYTHING from scratch? Keyboard, motnitor etc?
price is around £720 inc VAT

i will not be building it myself, have not a clue about computers

so a sound court isnt important?

and yeah i will be buying everything from scratch.

and games wise things like minecraft, killing floor, santum, mackica. nothing particularly new. also im not massively fused about super great graphics, as long as its looks decent im happy, and from what i found out the 6770 is a decent card that is reasonably priced and can run games like that skyrim in highsettings, but like i said, i really dont know that much about them.

Well yeah the specs seem fine on that build but I have to say you could get a much better PC with £710 if you built it yourself.

You should really consider building one yourself, if you change your mind just post here and people should help make a potential build for you.
well thank you very much for the help.

and yeah i have been told that a few times, but truth be told i really lake the time and skill to do it myself. techwork and wiring have never really bee a strong point for me ha

When they say "wiring" it's really just

1. Look at instructions
2. Take cable A
3. Put into slot A
4. Take cable B
5. Put into slot B...

Etc, it's no more difficult that that.
that may be so, but i would still rather have a professional do it, i hear these parts can be very delicate and i would hate to brake any parts, besides the site i found seems fairly prices, i checked the prices of each part on their own and it only comes to about £18 pound more on this site.

Do you not know anyone who could put a PC together for you?
only just seen your other post, impressive build, but unfortunately I really don't know anyone who can help me build one, that is why I have gone though a custom build site. I will probably look into upgrading it myself down the line when I am more comfortable with what I need to do.
