Buying games for a Beta

In light of the BF3 Beta going live for people who pre-ordered, or more specifically, bought Medal of Honor LE, I wondered how many of you have ever bought a game simply for early beta access? Did you have a nice surprise with the original game or a not so good experience? Is this something you'd personally never do, instead waiting for an open beta or simply the game itself?

I personally strongly considered buying Bulletstorm just for the GoW3 beta but finally waited for the free open beta instead. As for Medal of Honour, well despite not buying that game (a family member did), I am so fucking glad I didn't in the end because not even BF3 was worth some of the hell I went through trying out the MP. How about you?

Uh, no, never have. Never even considered it incentive, and almost every time I didn't even bother touching the beta. Only beta I've actively been a part of is the TF2 Beta (back on 07) and CSS Beta (which I got cuz I was lucky). So. . .yea, no, beta's dont do it for me.

Never considered it. I might have given Zone of the Enders a strong look due to the MGS2 demo, back in the day, if I had a PS2... but that would have been the closest thing.

I've never really bothered playing a beta. The closest thing was when I played a lot of the Raven Shield MP demo (released a month or so before the game, and they used feedback from that to change things).
