Hey guys! I am starting college this September and I will need a laptop for it. Now I looked at laptops and I found some kind of flaw in all of them. I need a laptop that is strong and reliable, preferably with a long battery life. The price range should be around a $1000. I would appreciate any tips you guys could give me regarding a good laptop. Thanks in advance!

Either an Hp or Toshiba brand with a good chunk of Memory available and good graphics cards, video cards, and processing unit

Well what kind of courses are you taking? I would suggest maybe an HP Pavilion. I will update it if I can.

Most of the components in these computers are manufactured in the same factories in china and taiwan.

That said, HPs totally suck ass. They luck spiffy. They offer a respectable price point. But you'll be playing the warranty lottery. Will it fail within your standard 1 year warranty- or after 366 days? But fail they do, and often.

I know it's redundant. But Dells sell about as well as HPs and I saw far fewer returned to the store for service. When I had that stupid fucking job as a geek squad agent where my job was to tell stupid people all day why we wouldn't fix the computer that they broke, themselves, for free. Or how they voided their warranty.
