Haha, well that summed up what I've wondered about Cthulu. Also, I loved the little jokes in the video. Pretty funny.

Like, so funny, like yeah!

... oh no...

Amusing, but the video didn't even touch upon the deeper themes of the story/mythos, nor the infamous Lovecraftian politics. So yeah, amusing, but meh...

She totally made the story sound lame. Everyone should actually read it, it's much better.

I still don't understand much... And that girl's voice was just annoying....
She really did make it sound lame, all the time having a really annoying voice and saying really annoying things.

Yep, pretty much.

Although it doesn't let you imagine all the full horrors of a chibi C'thulhu bas relief.

I still don't get why people are frightened by Lovecraft's stories. Though CoC:DCotE made me shit my pants.

It's title is "Call of Cthulhu in 2 Minutes," how deep did you expect it to go? Based on the title, it's kind of expected to only have, like 2 minutes of depth =P

A'I Dagon, A'I Hydra, A'I Cthulhu...that's from the book right?

I dunno. I think I should actually read it now. Unless squid-boy wants to come after me O.O
You might be thinking of, "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn." A famousish creepy chant with lots of glottal stops about how Cthulu is only asleep and is going to eat us for breakfast.
Aww I never wanted to be a breakfast snack to a big old squid guy that makes you insane...=[

Couldn't stop laughing at "BP'S MESS - Your Problem."

Seriously, that just made my day.

This 2 days after I buy (another) Lovecraft Anthology and 2 hours after I get one of my friends to read the opening paragraph of 'The call of Cthulhu'. Creepy.

Not a bad annotation but really leaves out all the suspense and insanity of the story.

Edit: in retrospect, this really wasn't an annotation at all, and rather a summary. Stupid vocabulary blending on a Sunday afternoon.

I read "The call of Cthulhu", a couple of months ago, after i ask my brother inlaw about it, then he made fun of me and send me a link to the book, you can download it, it public domain now.

But you might need a dictonery a couple of the words Lovecraft used are archaic, but i've been told they were archaic when he used them as well.

It's a good short read anyway.

I don't know how many times I've seen Cthulhu having been a source of inspiration, paid homage to, or just plainly ripped off from.

Yet I know so little about the story universe. It's an awesome concept though which no one should be ashamed of exploring. Outer dimensional, cosmic entities that make the entire Human race along with planet Earth insignificant by their sheer existence. With goals and intentions beyond even a basic comperhension from our fragile, mortal minds.

It deeply questions the purpose of our existence. We might in the end just end up as a merely satisfying snack for a hungry space squid casually floating through the universe.

I've yet to see any sort of proper movie made on it. Maybe that not-so-old game is worth looking into.

I really wanted to like that, since I enjoy Lovecraft's work in all its many forms, but it doesn't matter how fast you try to explain something to someone if you do a poor job of it. Both the voice and the writing grated on my nerves.

If anyone wants a good reference to the entire mythos, grab a copy of the pen and paper RPG book, The Call of Cthulhu. It covers everything Lovecraft wrote for the mythos, as well as all the material that came after from other authors.

Mildly amusing, but quite unecessary. Call of Cthulu is a SHORT STORY. I've written letters longer than that. And by letters, I mean I once wrote an especially long 'T'. Nearly all of Lovecraft's works are available free of charge on Wikimedia, so get to it.

p.s. "XXXX" was the best part of the video.
