So I'm a barman working in a nightclub part-time, have been for about 8 months now. I like my job, it's quite fun, get to meet some cool people and I make pretty good money for a student.

However one thing I've noticed is when the bar is often very busy, many obnoxious people have the same habits, sometimes quite funny, sometimes annoying, sometimes incredibly insulting, for example, people waving money in your face to get your attention, being called "boss" (maybe UK exclusive), asking how much a drink is even though they've been buying them all night.

Last week a guy and a girl come to the bar, the guy is buying, they ask for a double Disarronno and coke, and a double vodka and coke, so I do them, they pay and I give them their change. However the guy takes one sip and accuses me of not putting any alcohol in, claiming that it's "just coke" then his lady-friend gets in on the action and informs me theres no vodka in her coke either. Now bear in mind I had made this drinks honestly, and I did them less than 30-seconeds ago, so I remember clear-as-day me putting the alcohol in, I even saw the girl watching me put 50ml vodka in one of the glasses. They even gave me their drinks to taste them! Not only could I TASTE it, I could smell it too. These people must have thought I was born yesterday, gah

So anyway, before I go off on another tangent, to anyone who works in a bar in a pub/club/wherever, what bugs you? Do you ever get REALLY annoyed by the smallest things people do?

As a patron, I suppose i'm not technically 'supposed' to be answering this, but then again if it's limited to people who work bars only, the discussion will suffer slightly. But anyway, there was this one barman at a local pub who kept giving my friend these odd cocktails instead of what he actually ordered. He'd literally make a completely different drink, and then say "But I think you'll like it!". One such drink was this absolutely horrifying mint concoction that almost made him throw up when he tried it.

Just a nice little anecdote there.
