So, What's Your Favourite Faction in any TW game?

For me, it's the Macedonians - I can disrupt most any unit with my long spears, have heavy Cav to my sides, protecting my flanks and use my merc. archers at the back to take the edge off of the enemy.

Dang it, I was hoping that a new Total Warrior game had been announced.

I can't really discuss Total War games, my laptop can't run them too well so I don't play them despite hearing how good they are.

I love your avatar. I only played Rome Total War and it is very fun.

Great guys! I'm getting an error message:

when I try and access the group so I wont be able to change titles and such til it goes away, sorry. If anyone knows how to help, it would be appreciated.

The seleucids in rome kicked ass. They could do anything. You had the awesome that you get from phalanx units. Really, even the militia are almost unbeatable when defending in a siege. They also had legionnaires for maneuverable shock troops. catphracts for awesome cavalry. scythe chariots for even more awesome cavalry and ELEPHANTS. they have the best of all the factions

in Medieval 2 I like the italian factions since they can make a cheap yet functional army with all their variety in militia. But holy roman empire has to be my favorite simply because they get gothic knights with greatswords. scottish clan nobles are cool too

Alot of the factions in empire are kind of samey. I like england simply because of the redcoats. the ottomans, austria and maratha confederacy have a few more interesting things to add though.

napoleon is even more samey than empire though so i have no preferences.

im pretty fond of prussia in both games though simply because they start small and i like starting small. Also germans are cool and they have dark uniforms.

I waould say the Takeda Clan from Shogun. The had the best cav in the game and the great commander Takeda Shingen.

Rome
Shogun
Empire/Med 2
Med 1

{Note, I have Napoleon, but have not played it enough to rank it yet)

I only have Rome, Medieval 2 and Empire, so it would go:

Rome: TW (best one in the series by FAR)
Medieval II
Empire

Seleucids from Rome: TW. Nothing can beat my Silver Shield Triangle of Death.

Also, French from Medieval 2, I love heavy cavalry. Having 10 units of mixed Chivalrous Knights and Lancers bowl over an infantry line is pure magic.

That a hard question. I like the factions that have 1. good infantry and long range archers and 2. good start locations. In rome it would probably be egypt or romans, medievel would be moors (camel gunners ftw) or russia before the mongols invade and empire would be russia or india.

Favourite faction eh? So many choices. I love the French and Holy Roman empire from Medieval 2, all that heavy cavalry was beautiful. But the award goes to the Seleucid's for being awesome at everything.

Also, does anyone here have the Third Age mod for Medieval 2? In which case, how the hell do you beat trolls???

and are MTW and M2TW still good to play?
