So, for some time I've been planning to buy this t-shirt:

And I realised, that only a few people would understand what it refers to. A cookie will go to anyone who does recognise the reference. And at that point, I realised that I truly am a geek. And that also got me thinking...

What other things have you seen, or own, that are a reference to something most don't understand? From Portal t-shirts to 'Menage a 3' coffee mugs, to an LRR beanie hat, and everything in-between. It is indeed Hannelore from QC and also I've seen a couple of WoW "Frost Resistance" shirts which stand out a fair bit in a crowd. I myself sport a green 1 up mushroom top which makes it easier to spot geeks as they're the ones that get the shirt.

Good idea . I only know one person outside The Escapist who reads QC, and I only met him a few weeks ago through a student group at uni. He noticed me on there on a computer a few days ago and pointed out he was a fan too

I thought this was going to be about the band and I got excited for a second.

I've got a button on one of my bags that has the Aperture Science logo on it. That's not exactly rare, but the logo (without text) is abstract enough it's not obviously nerdy.
