My X box 360 seems to choose witch games it reads randomly. Im wondering if anyone else has had a problem like this. Like it plays my cod4 perfectly fine and its got scratches all over but then when i try to play my force unleashed which is also somewhat scratched seemingly less then cod it takes somewhere between 15 to 30 try's till it decides to work. then recently i just rented Wet and i was the first person to rent it brand new game and it worked on the first or second try usually. Now i just got Beatles rock band and I have been trying it for at least an hour now and it doesn't seem to want to work. Has anyone had a problem like this any idea whats wrong or how to fix it ?

Sounds like your DVD drive's about to bite the big one. My first 360 did that for about two months before it hit Red Ring. Second one did it for about a week, then the same thing.

I sold the third XBOX (second replacement) and bought an Elite a year later. No problems so far.

Load the games you want on your hard drive before it completely dies.(sometimes it will still recognize a disc even after it stops fully reading a game(then you can at least play from the HD). Sounds like the disc drives about to eat it though so you might be out of luck.

Yeah, get ready to have another wonderful support call with Microsoft and ask them to send a shipping box for the thing. Save yourself the trouble of waiting for it to actually hit RROD.

My cousin ad this problem it will real less and less often then stop reading altogether.
however look really hard at the discs it wont read see if there are any cracks in the center hole of the disc if there are then it won't read at all because it wont spin right.

The old consoles were full of problems, luckily microsoft jumped right on it, the newer models have most of those errors fixed (Mind you I was playing on my newer 360 because my old one was taken by the red ring, and it wouldn't play fallout 3, an extremely buggy, preowned copy though. After a few unsuccessful attempts with other games, it just got over it.)
