After looking at articles about Case Zero on sites like Kotaku, I've noticed the comments are generally negative.

"It's just a demo!" Oh, I see, demos usually have a plot and area different to the game they are promoting, do they? No, they don't. And Case Zero is more like pre-release DLC, since your stats and money carry over.

"It's overpriced!" It's 400 MS Points! That's equivalent to £3.20 ($5.00)! It's a great deal if you ask me. Just download the free trial if money's such an issue.

"Timer? That sucks!" Yeah, so what? This was a feature in Dead Rising 1. It's not like 15 minutes either, it's about 3 hours. And has four different endings.

"It's 360 exclusive, Capcom fails." Exclusives happen, deal with it. Would you still be complaining if it was Steam or PSN exclusive? Anyway, since it bridges the gap between the first and second games, it sort of makes sense to be on 360 because the first was also 360 exclusive.

"Chuck's daughter looks creepy!" ...Yeah, a little bit. But the game somehow makes you care for her.

The game now has three save slots, as well as better graphics and tighter controls. You get to try out the awesome weapon-combining system too. If you're looking for some funny, yet brutal, zombie maiming action for just a couple of quid (or bucks), look no further than Case Zero.

But please Internet. Shut your collective mouth, motherfuckers. You all sound like whiny bitches.

From what I've seen in the user groups I frequent, its apparently great fun.
I'd get it myself, but I need to get MS points >.<

Oh, and 400MS points is $5 by the way. And I didn't know it was that cheap. You don't see any arcade game go for that these days.

I know this goes against one of your points, but AWW MAN, IT'S NOT ON PSN! WHY?!? In all seriousness, I know, exclusives happen, and good for all the 360 owners, but still...

I agree with your other points, no doubt. Preordered the game. Have no opinion on Case Zero because I won't get to play it. Meh... just gonna have to make due with something else.

Thanks for the heads up, I've changed it in the OP.

Solid gold.

From what I've heard, it's pretty cool. If my internet didn't suck donkey cock I'd download it, but I'm stoked for DR2 hardcore.

I hear ya.

In fact if i remember correctly some people wanted the Director to charge more for Case Zero, but he was like "Nope" and BAM, $5 bucks it is.

Seriously for that price plus being able to bring over, 5 Levels and some Items into Dead Rising 2 once its out, that's a great Deal.

Have any of you encountered the annoying thing where you can't finish the bike? I heard you obtain the handlebars from a Biker duo but it's hard to get them to appear sometimes, I had like 1 hour left and I couldn't find them and got the D ending... Bah.
Otherwise amazing value for 400 ms points considering some map packs cost more then this!

I'm gonna buy it, and probably love it, but I'm still sad that it doesn't have co-op, especially because up until yesterday I thought it did.

Yeah it's a shame and I'm still worried about the main game, I should probably research it but I hope it's proper 24/7 co-op if you get me, I've only heard bits but it sounds like all you can do is kill zombies or fight psychos together, while cool I want to do cases and rescue survivors and stuff!

I think it's a pretty nice idea.

It doesn't really work for the developer as a demo - I don't think people who aren't already planning on buying Dead Rising 2 are going to shell out for Case Zero, whereas some people who were on the fence probably would download a free demo - but it does work for me as a fan of the original.

It's definitely the sort of thing DLC should be used for.

I liked the first Dead Rising, and I will probably like the second one, but i won't get case zero just cause it doesn't interest me. Sounds good though.

The only things i hope they fix are thus:
1: Health system, because it considers an over handed head slap as powerful as a bite to mr. G Jugular.

2: Difficulty Curve: I under stand that a challenge makes a game fun. Hell, i love games that challenge my willpower, but going from a practically empty mall, to a shoulder to shoulder packed mall is a little much on the slope, day n a half would be better, given the time frame.

3:AI. Just plain sucks. Almost every boss has an exploit for an easy win (the mexican man specially susceptible for this )

Otherwise a great game.

I wish i could find the page i read it on.
It was in a Dead Rising thread on /v/ and the post had a link to a website with the article.

I didn't care for the time constraint but I'm having a lot of fun with it! My favorite weapon combo is the nail-bat. Quick, powerful and with a great sweep-radius. Sure it's kind of gimmicky, kinda like the Fable 2 gambling thing but the info, stats, etc carry over and I think it'll be great to have that little advantage in the full game at the end of the month.

Hey, think of it this way...

At least it isn't 'Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop' for Wii!

This is the first time I've heard of it.

I mostly hated Dead Rising, so I doubt I would like Case Zero. One of the things I hated was the timer, so defending the timer in the DLC by comparing it to the timer in the original game does nothing for me. It can be 15 minutes, 3 hours, 30 hours, and I'll still hate knowing that I'll have to time my actions and keep track of some schedule of when characters and events will appear, especially with the awful save system. I want to kill zombies for as long as I want, without having to keep glancing at my virtual watch or always direct my zombie slayings towards a specific destination.
I don't normally do this, but this.

Defending the timer by saying it was in the first game doesn't convince me either. The timer sucked hard.

I find it extremely annoying that you had to complete the game once to play it the way you wanted to. Why couldn't they have made the timed mode a challenge mode? I just want to play the game without a stupid timer.

I think I'll get it, I've been looking for something worthwile to spend that 400 odd spare points I've got.
